Was 637 Dover vs Slough - Ryman site usually has it, although how up to date it is I don't know.

How on earth did you pull that one off then Mark? Was it rent a fan day?

Thanks Gary, I reckon it was down to 3 things. We had Sponsors and Guests, Chelmsford v Braintree 1st League meeting (Although we have played in Cups) Plus Borgies on a cup run, after giant killing Margate and drawing Exeter in the next round. 38 people have come forward already to join Iron on Tour, we have taken about 7-11 on our mini bus. About 30 fans to each game.

For this we have 38 plus Car drivers. Plus we have two weeks to get any late bookings.

If the club promotes the derby we could possibly draw over 1000. If the local papers came on side for both clubs and made a big story of it it could build an attaction.

Pitch the game as the battle of the Ryman league, the two best footballing teams below the Nationwide conference, do player profiles, why not run a kid for a quid promotion.

The most effective promo I've seen in recent years was run by the Slough Jets. They visited all the local secondary schools and handed out voucher books for all their games in the second half of the season. It started off with the first game free, the second game half price and so on. The fans were gradually weened off complementary tickets on to paying full price. The promo worked becuase the Jets won the first few games and the fans were hooked. By the time they had to pay full price the fans were prepared to do so because they didn't want to miss a game. The Jets doubled their crowds to 1500 sellouts within a month and remained like that for the rest of the season. Short term cost, long term gain. Could this work for the Rebels. Remember, for every free child admitted you would almost certainly have an accompanying full paying adult.

I am not entirely sure, last season our Sunday kick off was 2pm and it also ensures you avoid clashing with the Sky 4.05pm kick off.
