And so the Fleet arrogance begins....

The Monk

Here are some of the comments from their board...they really are expecting to walk all over us...

"how can you be dissapionted with Hornchurch what a game, we will take them to bits, they may have all League players so what. fantastic draw and not to far to go either. the ground is not the best it has a running track round it. "

"The disappointment is , its not a home tie, nor is it a money maker with Hornchurches low crowds. ( But with a decent away support, a crowd of nigh on 2,000 could be a possibility)"

On the other hand some Fleet supporters with more than one brain cell say...

"This'll be a toughie no mistake. On our day, we're probably better than them, but in the FA Cup this is the kind of game that the upstarts on the way up tend to do well in! "

"Since Hornchurch won 9-0 at home to Dulwich in the last round, I think 'take them to bits' is a slight overstatement. To say we have no chance would be unfair, but this is simply the second hardest tie of the round...We are not playing at our best at the moment and this could be one of our sternest tests this season. "

This could be a though one....

Now now Psycho Monkey, yo've 'massaged the figures' somewhat. ONE bloke said it'd be a walkover, everybody else is taking it as another tough match.

Do you spin professionally for the Labour Party...? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

and nice to see you lot doing so well...not so long ago it was all doom and gloom ...just around this time last year when you were bottom of the league and we thrashed you in the FA Cup and your players smashed up our away dressing rooms....

ahhh..those were the days...real lower pyramid stuff....shame we had to leave you on our way up.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

So U consider 2-1 a thrashing...lol. At least we were unbeaten against U in the league (from what I remember we beat U 2 - 0 at our gaff - note the word "beaten", not "thrashed" - lets keep it in persepctive, eh?). It's amazing wot players do when their wound up isn't it? Still those of us that watched EVERY game in the name of "supporting" your club still managed to keep our heads up regardless.

Things are fine in the Ryman and we'll be following you up next season. You may, or may not be there, we'll see. Xmas things tend to change around...

See you've got a tasty F A Cup game coming and also Essex Senior Cup as well...Both of which I wish you all the best.

a tear rolled down my eye as I watched him pick the few pence out of the biscuit tin laid out in front of him and shuffle off to the club with enough money to pay for their new striker...
