Back in Peru, after my hols home, but what did I find on my brief return to God's green and pleasant land; Millwall riot, train derailment, Star Wars mania, political racist gaffe, and Fleet winning the Kent Cup - some things never change then!

 

Made it to Margate for my one and only glimpse of the Fleet last season. Duku is certainly a commanding presence in defence, and Hatch is stronger on the ball than his slither of a body would suggest. Great to see Jacko grab the first goal. What a great season for him, the Fleet's very own Captain Marvel.

 

I was also able to meet a number of Fleet fans (great bunch of supporters) for the first time and put faces <img border="0" title="" alt="[smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" /> to Internet names. Nice to meet you all. Keep up the good work with your excellent postings. The Deportivo ****a shirt has also found a good home. I hope it fits!

 

Returning to Peru (weather still in the 70s, despite being early winter) found out that only one channel has broadcasting rights to the World Cup (Andina TV) here. England v Argentina is on live (at 6.30 in the morning on June 7) but not sure about the other two games. Still I bought back with me plenty of bacon and HP sauce so we can have bacon butties for early morning games; a play on the meaning of bringing home the bacon.

 

The commentary will of course be in Spanish, but the commentators here affectionately call Michael Owen "wonder boy" in English whenever he's on the ball. Let's all hope he lives up to his strong reputation then.

 

I will occasionally post with Peruvian reactions to the World Cup and particularly with the game against Argentina (the Peruvians backed Argentina in the Falklands).

So some swine managed to take the ****a shirt eh!

 

Whats the chances of getting one or two shipped over as they would be a valuable addition to any footie fans collection! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

 

I have managed to find the ****as web site. (It exists, honest!) But unfortunately it appears to be written in a strange tongue. Don't they realise that us Brits have a need to expand our knowledge of the outside World?

 

Kepp up the postings please, as they always make an entertaining read.

What do they call Emile Heskey then "wonder why" ?

 

as in wonder why he fell over, wonder why he didn't control that ball, wonder why he plays left midfield, wonder why they pick him.
