Bumped into the great man on several occasions on Saturday night - Chequer Street, Harry's Wine Bar, St Albans Tandoori!!...

 

Had some great chats about the good old days at the club. Rizza, Clarky etc.

 

He was gutted to hear what has been going on at SACFC in his absence, but advised us to "keep the faith"!

He said he had some role at Cheshunt at the minute. A return to Clarence Park was suggested by us all!

 

I reminded him that he was last manager to win a trophy with the Saints. He shook my hand for that one!!

Am I to assume that the "reserves" and the "mid week youth" are not considered part of the club then as they have both won trophies within the past 3 seasons <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Those rumours were not mentioned on Saturday night, Caretaker.

 

Then again, according to the Herts Ad, Steve Castle has a job for life at City, so no need to look elsewhere.

With all due respect to the reserves and the yoof, according to this informative page HERE, Kevin Mudd was the last manager to win a trophy with the Saints.

As I said theres more than one club which features the name St Albans City <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

 

As for the question of trophies, I am only being pedantic (I suppose) but I am sure all the guys who invested their time and efforts (for no renumeration I hasten to add) would like a little bit of recognition, or do we even sweep our limited success under the carpet now <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

 

Still .... on to bigger and better things .....

Mate, of course the efforts are recognised and applauded, by the fans at least, if not the chairman.
