£10,000 next round

So what would you prefer an "easy " home draw against a lower league team . Smaller gate maybe but £10,000 to the winner, plus a place in the first round proper. Or a game against a top conference side with a bigger gate.

I'd rather have the best chance possible of winning the £10k. Gate receipts, regardless of who we play, wouldn't amount to that. After all, the gate receipts, after expenses (travelling team coach & accomodation if required), is then split equally between the teams, or perhaps 45% each with 10% to the FA - think that might be in the later rounds though.

I'm glad to see your schooling has equipped you with metal arithmetic skills woody. The ten grand would obviously be very useful and hopefully not just for the reasons you are getting at.

Of course, if we make it to the first round and have a home tie, there will be several million people watching who will say to themselves that Stag Meadow would be much better with covering <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
