[color:"blue"] I think that, if CK has some money in his budget we should get a few loanees in for a month, perhaps Chris could look for fringe Conference players - he has the contacts.

Greg is out, with an injury possibly made worse by playing him when he was borderline fit.

Greenie is out - his injury didn't allow him to play.

Bill has an injury possibly made worse by playing him (he lasted 26 minutes yesterday).

Clarkie has an injury possibly made worse by playing him (he lasted 84 minutes yesterday).

Charalambous & Benevides aren't wing-backs - we need two dedicated wingbacks

Bill can be replaced by Ross Smith, who settled in OK yesterday. Replace Clarkie with Benevides & let the regulars heal. We could also do with a defender on the bench & we'd be sorted for a few weeks.

I suspect yesterdays loss of £5k prize money may have scuppered that idea Peter.

Agree it is needed-except to me, an old fashioned defensive full back makes more sense than a wing back, where unless you are premiership quality, you end up with a player who does both jobs poorly.

Thats what i liked about Green-his no. 1 role was a defensive full back-and he did great.

In abscence of FA CUp run ,i cannot see where funding comes from.

Normally after an FA Cup exit there is a culling of a squad, not an enhancement.

But yes we need defenders-Ross Smith seems promising

I think we could get away with Greg as a wing back in conf. national as there were reasonable defenders alonside him in Porter, Sodge etc.

This year defence is poor and attacking wing back role is a luxury.

When Green is back, we can get away with gref being a 'roving defender ' on that flank, but two wing backs are a luxury , and frankly it is too big a job for players at this level.

Keep it simple, with defenders who defend, midfield who suoort defence and create, and strikers who play up front.

[color:"blue"]Either way Michael, you'll have to agree that Alexis & Peter are not full-backs or wing-backs and are playing out of position and it's beginning to cost us, (Peter Benevides & defending are antonyms - Alexis is out of his depth defending).

Did not see yesterday, but from what i have seen, have to agree.

You can usually accomodate one player out of position, but not two.

Obviously AC not fit, but even so , he can play full back(reluctantly i believe but 'needs must'),and Annon can play at back.At least you get defenders in defensive positions.

Obviously its difficult for all and its easy to sit in an armchair and get it right.

I'm sure it will come right, but in meantime, think it all has to be kept simple at this level of football.

Defenders in defence and midfielders in midfield.

Similar 'mistake' two years ago with Keister playing upfront.-that never worked either.
