Brentwood Town 1 Enfield Town 1

Recommended Posts

Hall, Wright, Baldwin, Gant, Hall, Campbell, Geraghty, Hall, Smith, Negus, Nyman, Snowden, Pamplin, Katinge, Acheampong, Farenden

For the first 5 minutes the defence did not settle and Brentwood could have had made one of 3 chances count to possibly go in front. But it was Enfield Town that made it count with a cross and a header in from Dean Nyman in the 13th minute. 1 - 0. Hey we're on a roll it may be wet but things started to look good. Town then had a good spell for about the next 20 minutes before Dean Nyman went of to receive attention for an injury and Paul Campbell went down injured. We didn't play to the refs whistle and Brentwood nicked one back 1 - 1 whilst we stood and watched.

Second half was predominantly Enfield Town with Brentwood attempting to breakout from the onslaught. Kitenge, Snowden and Pamplin on for Smith, Geraghty and Baldwin. The pressure was increased as we pushed for the goal. Alas not to be and definitely 2 points lost.

Tuesday will be intertesting.

Allegedly JC is going to make changes!

after that pathetic performance today then they can't come soon enuff!

Man of the Match Chopper - if he had not been on form we would have been 3 down before the flukey corner went in!

One thing for certain the only way we will avoid going to Brentwood next season is if they get relegated!

I bet i know one change he will make on Tuesday,

Riley will be found a place in the side!! WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT??? Im convinced if chopper was injured Jim would put him in goal!! Am i the only one that cant see what Jim see's in Super Kev? I just dont see what he gives us in whatever posistion Jim plays him (and god he's played him in nearly every posistion)

It's simple: JC isn't producing the goods. I defected to Town from EFC in the hope that top level non-league football could be brought back to the borough. Yet another season in the ESL doesn't amount to that. There's no relegation from the ESL so someone else would find it tough to do any worse! We're not the best team in the ESL and therefore we are going to be staying there for the forseeable future. Simple as that.

Yes Riley was suspended today, what other reason could there be for him not being in the starting line up???

I hope Brad gets back to full fitness soon, i think we are missing him badly, in midfield i hasten to add & not defence, How far away is Bernie away from playing again? Injuries apart we never seem to have a stable line up, mainly due to Jims tinkering, why does he do that???

Dont want to moan about him as i feel there isnt anyone else that could take us on further at this level anyway, unless a certain Mr Borg wants to step down a few levels!!!!!

To many 'injuries' and 'unavailables' for my liking.I would make every injured player turn up to all games ,if they don't turn-up ban them from the next game.If a player is unavailable ,ban him from playing the next game. It's time to find out who's dedicated to the club and who isn't.

Billy Cove was released because he couldn't give 100% commitment (because of work). But this season players disapear for weeks on end, then just stoll back into the squad. If Bernie is still part of the team tell him to turn up for matches and watch, if he doesn't kick him out.

Right sentiment, wrong club
the coaches are too soft @ ETFC.
Allegedly we were goin got have a "big clear out" in the summer wih 8 or so new signings; where were they yesterday?

We want players with commitment and a desire to win granted we have 3 or 4; the rest just turn up for "expenses" - give them expenses if they win; give them bus fare if they don't; then we'd see who wants to play for ETFC and who is here for an easy ride and beer money.

It's about time we had the promised "clear out" say thank you to the favoured "sons" and start to build a new team.

If we win our next two games, all will be forgotten; but the need to change will still be there.

Yesterday was a series of questions for me.

Why did I take my daughter to Palmers Green to play netball and then spend the next 90 minutes on the A12 getting to a game which I advised people to get to early so that they could park in the car park? 3.05pm and still only just getting into the car park!

After that, the questions became more serious.

Where from the players was the fight, determination, commitment, passion, desire to play for themsleves and the 100 following supporters? Nowhere as far as I was concerned. Mind you, three or four players earned the respect of the supporters, but that was about it.

When we were continually passing the ball to Brentwood, there was no leadership on the park to change matters. We continually played the same type of game and always looked suspect to the long ball of Brentwood. Why can't we do that?

Surely there must have been some players on the park who realised that their keeper could not kick a ball over 40 yards? Why then at every goal kick did we retreat back into our own half? Only when Asa came on did he stand on the edge of the penalty area to try and pick up on the keeper's mistake.

I would believe that most ETFC supporters were seriously let down by the team performance yesterday and can only assume that the performance is not good enough to win the ESL.

Something has to change! We know the team can play well, so it's about time they did so in the league.

Only took 45 minutes to get home so the question I was faced with was 'you'r home early, aren't you'? Even more questions!!!

It's time for Jim to be brave a try 4 at the back again, and realise that certain players have had their day.(unfortunatly it's probably those players who care most about the club).

We need a quality left-back (to free Matty up,to play a more creative roll.)We also need a new dominant centre back to partner Campbell. I think Jim should make a judgement as to who is the best cental defender in this league and put a bloody approach in for him.

Until new players are brought in, my team would be:

1.A Hall

2. Gant

3. Negus

4. Campbell

5. Brotherton

6. Wright

7. Everitt (when fit)

8. Ridout (ditto)

9. Nyman

10.Smith

12.Pamplin

I've always admired Adam Gant as a centre back. Due to exile I haven't seen Capbell yet.

I'd always have Brad in midfield, for his spirit, leadership, goals - and he can pass a ball when he feels like it.

Is Lee Smith fully fit yet? I've always rated him but feel he needs the right partner up front.

Flat back four or three plus wingbacks, whatever, you have to use what players you've got. It's no good forcing players into positions they don't like (unless you're an England manager of course) and it's players not systems that win matches. We did win the league with wingbacks remember. Obviously Matt is happy in that role, and a very good WB he is too, but we have never really solved the problem of the other side...

In simple terms : We look exposed in defence with 3 cente-backs, so why not look exposed with 2 centre-backs.That would mean an extra midfield player,so the opposing side are less likely to attack our defence as often.

I wouldn't mind seeing Brad in midfield IF we could find a solid centre-back.

This would be my prefured team IF we brought some extra quality into the squad.

1. A. Hall

2. Gant

3. [new left back]

4. Campbell

5. [new centre back]

6. Negus

7. Everitt

8. Brotherton

9. Nyman

10.Smith

11.[new striker]
