I have been working all day but have been in touch with people many times throughout the day about what was happening.Even had a long chat with Vicki at the office and all told things were'nt looking too bright. Later in the day I hear we have been offered a 10 year lease instead of a 12 month one. That in itself is a major improvement. However it also sounds like to me that the club are not satisfied with this and understandably so bearing in mind the developers mass input. Do I understand it that the club are going to turn this down! Sincerely hope not but then I am looking at it in football terms and not the business side. Hope we stick at it and keep etching away at the council until they come COMPLETELY to their senses albeit after long delays. Really hope this good news is not going to be slung back at us by of all people the CLUB itself.

Today has been a bad day then got ten times better and the club are still in exsistence, thank god. We have to keep turning the screw on the council in whatever way we can.

The council leader says they are accountable to the people of thanet so I hope he remembers those words. ACCOUNTABLE to US!!!

We are getting there, unbelievably, but can we get the best from the council, the best that the club and the developers need? That is the question.

For now though we are still alive and ready to kick some butt tomorrow.

Also the ground cannot be given back to the council at a later date because it already belongs to US, the paying and voting public of THANET.

Good day in the end but beware the battle isn't over just yet.But we are fighting. Keep it up KP and other members of the board. We will overcome, we will overcome. I will be if we get back home to Hartsdown.See some of you tomorrow.(Sorry for this being such a long post, again).

I think that a 10 year lease is a reasonable result.

There are quite a few teams in both divs. of conference with less than that.

If margate fc adhere to the terms of lease-and indeed if club does progress, then i am sure any council would find it hard not to renew.

A lease does equally work both ways.

Maybe in 5 years time, Margate will be looking for other sites, but are tied to this agreement and then looking for ways to get out of the lease.

To me, 10 years is entirely satisfactory.

My biggest fear remains not from TDC ,but from the developers pulling the plug if a more financially viable project comes along.

That is the nature of property developers.

i wish them well with the project, and just hope and trust they stick with it now.

Whatever is said about TDC, their allegiance to MFC is greater than a London company .

They can walk away, get called all names under the sun but are quickly forgotten.

TDC are here to stay and face the music everyday;so despite their shortcomings, deep down they will find it hard to let MFC down.

That would possibly not be a concern of property developers however.

I do not know them from Adam, but just hope and prey that they are thoroughly decent and honourable chaps. However they are in it for the money, not because thet are margate supporters.

Property and rental market is declining somewhat, so again i trust they stick with it, and above all that their business plans(yet to be presented it reads) show they can make a fortune from this investment so that they stay with the project for the full course.

I wish well to all parties.

Just think there are alot more heartstopping days like the last few to come

Come on Chris and the guys-lets win this first time around not just for the fans ,club and players but for the whole of Thanet this time

I see the NLP says it is a 20 year lease.

I just hope the promised letter manifests itself tomorrow with content as required by MFC and development partners.

Despite it being mainly bad news,-until the end-i applaud MFC for the information flow last week.

I trust that will continue next week, both with a confirmation on monday that all is definately as promised on the ground issue;and then followed up with an updated squad information bulletin-e.g. news on Watson .Smith, another goalie(odd )Arajogun.Who is contracted/loaned/ non contract./injured etc.

Appreciate club have been busy, but maybe if some player info was available, some new player sponsorship may be forthcoming.

E.g. i think Trego has a few fans-but is he 'permanent'; and no secret that i rate Watson-has he signed/is he fit-in fact-did he ever leave?.

i don't think anyone wants to put their name behind a player who is only here for a few weeks, but if you know he's at least planned to be here for the season you don't mind and accept the 'risks' that things can change
