Funny how you say WE don't seem to be going no where, but you headline says 'U' ain't going no where. If you're trying to pretend that your a Town fan, try to be a bit cleverer about it. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

Regarding Chandler.6 titles in 4 seasons including the ESL campionship.Been incharge of the greatest ever away run without defeat in ESL history (still running,by the way),Town unbeaten in the league this season.

Yes, Town are ambitious, and IF we don't get promoted this season,Jims job will be under threat. HE knows that, the supporters know that...NEXT !

What if a Manager leads his team to the ESL championship and in the play-offs to get 15 down to 8 ( any news ? ) Town meet, say, the Champions of the North Western League or Western League for a place in the next step up and you Lose .. who would have the guts to sack the poor guy then ?

'U aint going no where'....Is does matter that you pretended to be a ETFC fan, when you're obviously not.

Also, don't you mean that you think Abbey we win the league rather than 'get promoted'.

Don't forget Enfield Town will only be 2 points behind Abbey if they win their two games in hand,AND both teams must still face each other twice in the league.

its far too early to start saying who will win the league. the best team will win the league simple as that. we have put ourselves in a position where it is a possibilty and that is our aim. a few other teams have also put themselves in that position and they to will be aiming for that. so that talk is a bit early i think. who ever wins the esl this year deserves a lot of credit as i think it is a very strong league this year. i hope that whoever (and obviously i hope that is us) wins the league is promoted if they wish to be so as that is why we are all striving to win it. what a slap in the face if you won it and did not get to go up. it would be totally out of order.

LS you and your gang just will not listern will you.you can bet your bottom doller what i say will prob happen if you go up you will need a top man in charge (NOT A YOUTH TEAM MANAGER)and if you dont go up it will be time for a change at the helm.

Yeah..Margolis really improved eton Manor this season <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/doah.gif" alt="" />

Chandler has managed at Ryman premier level, and kept EFC up with very little money. It was aslo under chandler that EFC beat Chesterfield away in the second round of the FA cup, then drew 0-0 away at a top div 1 club at the time, David Moyes Preston. He's also won every 'Essex' honour available.

Also, if Margolis is any good, why was he an assistant at a mid-table ESL team this year, and is now managing a Spartan Div1 side. Not exactally the stuff of legends,is it.

But you're right ETFC demand a top manager. We think Chandler is a top manager. If that proves not to be the case we are not afraid to make difficult dicisions.Don't forget WE THE FANS chose our chairman/board and unltimatly our managers. What a nice position to be in. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/hump.gif" alt="" />

managers are judged on results by everyone on the outside and rightly so. town have been very consistant over the years they have been around and nobody can really question that. but like you say you need to start moving up the pyramid now and if you dont then you are the ones who decide what action to take. only players really know how good the manager is. a bad manager with a good team can still be successful and vice versa. a good manager is one who players will die for and want to play for and he in turn gets the most out of them. if that is tru of the manager then yes he is good.

i dont think its fair to knock stewart for going to brimsdown. its a brave decision to drop down a league and one which could backfire but i know him well enough and im sure he will do well. especially with brooker as chairman they will be a decent outfit very soon.

Even if waltham abbey win the esl this year they surely wont be allowed to go up their ground is nowhere near up to ryman league standard, but they will go very close to winning the league this season.

Hi Pinnacle.

Say for the sake of arguement.Waltham Abbey won the league but could not go up and Enfield Town were promoted into the Southern league.Would any of the better players at the Abbey be tempted if Enfield town came calling next pre-season. Be honest <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/ladys-man.gif" alt="" />

Yes, years' grace given, so anyone who wins a league must take their chances or there will be mass controversy like another team ko'd from the Cup by Enfield Town have caused in another part of East Anglia. 2nd or 3rd place can still be considered but the FA seem to be leaning towards dealing only with the Winners because of the 15 into 8 business. So, let battle commence !

If the Southern league's ground criteria is about the same as the Ryman league in its requirements. It will cost abbey a fairly large amount of money to reach the standard of ground required. I would estimate between £25-100,000 depending on what was needed.Someone is going to need deep pockets. If Abbey are looking to fund the work with a FA grant. They only award money to upgrade facilities to meet the league you are currently in.You can only ever apply for one loan (no top ups). So if Abbey wait until they get promoted,i don't see how they will be able to apply for a grant, wait for it to be excepted (which takes forever) and then complete the building work in time for an Southern league inspection, the following pre season.

Sorry if that sounds pessimistic. If Waltham Abbey win the league they deserve to go up. I know how cheated ETFC felt when we were refused promotion a few seasons back because of ground requirements.

ls i take what you are saying but we are actually not too far away. we already have the seats and things but have not had them put in yet due to the problems with local youths who find it funny to trash our ground. they would be put in as and when needed.

anyway all a long long way off! every team that wins a league should be promoted, anything else in criminal!

I thought that the winners of the essex senior league go into division 1 of the ryman league, and that esl and the ryman div 2 are the same level in the pyramid
