New posts and Cookies

I only get to see new posts highlighted during the day while my compute is always on. This leads me to believe there is some connection between that and the logon cookie. I also run a pop up blocker that deletes all cookies each time I boot the computer unless I have selected to keep them.

It appears that the cookie changed during the recent upgrade, and I cant locate the name of the new on. None of the cookies listed on "my homepage" show on my lists at all. It is not forums.nonleague.com

Anyone got any ideas

I *think* the problem is related to how you access the forums - the majority of people use the links to go directly to the club forums (no problem with this) But this is where it is currently failing. We are looking into a solution for you. If you access it via any of the domain name - i.e http://www.nonleague.com then the problems are far reduced. The new cookie will just be called www.fansfocus.com (or similar)

Any of them should work - however stick to fansfocus.com/slough - however I could do with some people confirming my suspicions above, about the new post indicators failing when going direct to a forum, but working, when you come in via the home page.

...he's like a CD player with the laser stuck, isn't he?

(Can't say 'record' and 'needle' any more, can we? The junior fans wouldn't get it )

Ian I have been experimenting all day. My conclusion is that I have no problem seeing the new post and unread post counters, coming in directly from a short cut as long as I remain logged in. (sorry).

The cookie info you gave me works so I now stay logged in even when I reboot my PC. However as also posted by others I loose all unread post counters if I view one new post, or indeed if I go to my home page. So the clues seem to be

1) you dont see the new post / unread post counters unles you stay "logged in". If you have been logged off as I was by my pop up blocker and then log in you dont get the new/unread info.

2) you lose all info if you look at one message.

Oh yes and if you accidentally click on history instead of home you get an ovewide page.
