BOWERS & PITSEA F.C. SLEEPING GIANTS

Recommended Posts

Bowers have good facilities their pitch is in great shape and they have made improvements to their changing rooms and also have a nice clubhouse,so why are they in the bottom three in the essex senior league, any ideas.

In the past, Bowers have shown a reluctance to progress through the levels and not matching the ambitions of previous managers, e.g. Tony Cross (Now at Great Wakering Rovers). This has now changed following a change of chairman and an enthusiastic and committed committee. The club is now in great shape and geared for success.

This will in turn attract a better quality of player. Because at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how great the facilities etc are, if the players are pants, the club will go nowhere.

I expect this season will be one of consolidation, with greater things expected next season.

Sincere best wishes to all your guys at Bowers & Pitsea FC, rebuilding is a long process and the level of expectation can sometimes knee jerk you into trying to move too soon, but I am sure you good people know the pitfalls.

Best of Luck and the Manor's best wishes to you all.

Regards - MB

Thanks for kind words MB. The club is now on a sound financial and commercial footing, the ground is looking great with expansion plans in the offing. We just need to get the results right on the pitch and we'll take off.

If we can recapture the ESL title winning formula of 98/99 the fans will return. With respect to Bas Utd, we have a lot more to offer non-league fans in what is a large catchment area.

Good luck to the Manor for the rest of the season.

I believe that's what I was saying , if you look at this quote from previous reply

Bowers & pitsea's first team squad has been descimated all season so far, having been over their a few times i am led to believe that Darran George's squad has not been at full strength with at least 7 key players out through injury, when these players become available and with Darran's player pulling power he will get more players to bowers, lets not forget that Mr George is also the Essex f.a's Senior County Manager and is held in high regard within the senior ranks of the county fa make no mistake bowers & pitsea will turn the corner.

Hardly surprising! At 1-0 they had a player taken to hospital with a suspected broken neck (Thankfully it wasn't). The game was stopped for 30mins while waiting for the ambulance, which when it arrived had to drive onto the pitch to where the player lay. No-one was too bothered about the result after that.

Many thanks for all your support, its nice to know that the players safety is the most important thing remembering that it is only a game and that the players play football for enjoyment. Also a big thank you to all at concord rangers for their help and support on saturday your assistance was greatly appreciated.

Aparantly the ref can allow upto 30 mins stoppage if he believes the game can eventually restart, unlike for example, a floodlight failure when there is no guarantee of a fix. The incident happened quite late in the game (About 15 mins from the end) so they may have wanted to get it out of the way.

The good news is the lad is on the mend and was just badly shaken up...According to a B&P committee member.

We had almost the same thing with the ladies game Sunday after 32 minutes of the first half when one of the Cardiff City players fell heavily on the back of one of our players, the ambulance rapid response car drove onto the pitch but the ambulance didn`t when it arrived. The game was held up for over half hour and before restarting the ref allowed 5 minutes warming up.

Thankfuly the injuries were not as serious as feared, bruised ribs and a fractured sternum, but no one complained about the hold up and just got on with it.
