Credit where credits due I thought Saturdays ref was as good as I have seen down at the lane.

Loved it in the second half when a FGR player was moaning he just shouted shut up and get on with it.

 

Secondly I thought FGR tried to play football unlike some of the teams we have hosted this year who hoof the ball into the channels and then squeese up looking for a mistake to be made.

I beleive thats why we have had more success away from the lane as teams playing at home have to come out and attack us leaving room at the back for us to exploit.

i think the FGR fans would disagree about the ref, their bench thought he was terrible. i would have to agree that he seemed to favor the home side, but hey it makes a change

The ref wasn't to bad compared to some I've witnessed so far.

 

Can't always blame the ref - sometimes they don't seem to get the support from the linesman - Farnborough was a good example.

 

I do think the fourth officials are doing a grand job - they haven't made many mistakes this season <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

Agree about FGR - they did try and play footie rather than putting everyone in defence - don't think this will save them though.

 

Wonder if the ref. gave some 50/50 decisions in our favour rather than have the fury of 350 partisan fans on his back <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> The Lane has become a fortress.

 

I think Carlisle have a very good side - but I wonder if having thousands of mad cumbrians screaming at you, both home and away, is a reason they are not defeated? I'm sure as buggery I wouldn't let them lose if I was the man in black - between 1,000 to 7,000 fans can't be wrong...... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Fully agree the referee was a good one on Saturday. I thought the ref on Tuesday against Stevenage wasn't to bad apart form not booking their guy for his tackle on Boylan. Some of the refs have been a joke this season but the last two have been okay.

 

Sometime's I wish that some of the Canvey fans would lay off the ref a bit and get behind the team a bit more. There were still some people having a go at the ref on Saturday despite him being the best ref we have had this year.

 

Lets face it who would be a ref. None of s would want to do it, its a thanless job you get abused by players and fans even if you give the correct decision.
