Music Hall Of Fame - The 90s

Recommended Posts

Anyone see who won last night?

I only watched the first half hour or so... once I'd seen Oasis, Nirvana and Blur, I couldn't think of anyone else from the 90s I was that interested in. I suppose maybe the Spice Girls, but I've got plenty of them on video anyway!

Anyway, my vote would have gone to Blur without a doubt. Such a brilliantly diverse band. To go from Parklife to 1997's self-titled album in the space of 36 months can only be compared with the kind of progress the Beatles made between 1964 and 1967.

No doubt most of the twats watching would have voted for Robbie Williams or some overrated nonsense like Manic Street Preachers.

And why were U2 automatically put into the Hall Of Fame? They fall into the same category as Chili Peppers, Simple Minds and Hothouse Flowers, I'm afraid. Totally unessential.
