What has happened to the Town

Dont get to many away games but was shocked to say the least at the result against southend.Reading the match report and some of the posts it seems like we were vere poor and understrengthed.People are saying we have a lot of injuries so how many of the team who started saturday would actually be in the squad if everyone was fit.Are our players good enough??

I feel the up-coming suspention of G.Hall and the continued injury to Snowden could give Jim a chance to field a back three of Campbell/Brotherton/Gant. A combination that i have believed from the start of the season, could be our best centre back combination.

Right-wing back seems to be the problem at the moment. I don't think using one of the spare cente backs is the answer (if that does happen,i would like to see Snowden given a run there). For some reason Jim doesn't seem to have faith in Francis playing that position. Riley can cover there, but i don't feel it is a long term option.

Also, with Smith,Kintenge and Pamplin vying for a centre forward place,i can't see the sence in persisting with Nyman up front, especially as he could easily swith to playing wide (dare i sugest the right-wing back position). Yes Nyman has scored a few at the start of the season, but i dont feel he's the sort of striker to get 20 goals a season [i think he got 2 last season for his previous club].But i think he is a good provider and link player.

I also feel we are missing Everitt in midfield at present.

1. Brad is a natural cente-back, not a midfield player. How is he a liability .His disciplinary record this season is probably better than most of the other defenders we have. Also with playing 3 cente backs it only leaves a maximun of three players to fill midfield. We already have Everitt,Wright,Riley,Gerahty,Ridout vying for those three places.

2. Campbell had his worst game for the club last week AS A WING-BACK.I was watching him closly and on numerous occasions he didn't back play up or support the player carrying the ball when he should of,then occasionally he would make a run upfield at the wrong time leaving his wing exposed. Campbell is a rare find at cente-back.Let's not waste that talent by shifting him out of position.

3.Smith may look useful as a winger, but he looks more 'useful' as a forward. Nyman has played a lot of his career out wide or in midfield,Smith hasn't.I know for a fact that Smith is not happy to be playing there.

4. Obviously you can't play wingers with five at the back. 'Wing-backs' in that system though, should be kept constantly busy.

We as fans get nervous with Brad in defence when he makes an error it tends to be a howler. But we love to watch Brad going forward - he plays with such passion which we appreciate.

Midfield in the season I've watch we have been weak. Everitt is fantastic when he is available (not too often though). Cary Wright is a pleasure to watch. Riley is a utility player. Gerachty has goods and bad spells. Why get the great JR out of retirement if all is rosy in the midfield garden?

In my book Pamplin has not impressed me yet with his ability or Real Madrid style antics.

If the papers are to be believed, then you've got to spend a lot of your time in nightclubs & with your PA increasing her duties!.
Just carry on doing what you're doing Asa, you've made a positive difference to the team.

I have no problem with a player going to the ground for an elbow it is the most common legitimate offence. But (thinking) time delays and rolling around when you've barely been touched is a bit cry wolf (Real Madrid) and I as a fan was embarassed. It was bad acting!

Do the business as a striker, and when you go down at the right time for goodness sake look convincing and we'll back you with an appeal to the ref all the way!

When has Asa done anything like this?

All I`ve seen is him stepping in and helping his team-mates.
