Player of the month RESULT for september will be taking no more votes and those entered AFTER this post will be null and void.

Due to the enormous amount of votes cast and some being unusual to say the least the voting has ceased. 168 Votes cast.Well done. Nearly a home attendance eh? Wonder how many of those were duplications? (Or Darrons school kids)

The outright winner for September is :

1ST Darron ANNON (33votes-20%)

Maybe we will do some other polls later.Feel free to come up with some ideas.

Some of the votes I think were not quite up to scratch and fair but nevertheless this was my first try at a poll and it was enjoyable even though Tamba and Moses got lots of votes in for themselves ha! ha! he! he! (only kiddin guys. Or am I?).

Thanks for playing along and participating.

I do however feel that the result was the CORRECT one.Look out for OCTOBERS player of the month.

POLL CLOSED!!!!

MARGATEDON. In reply to your request for a "poll" on man of the match it seems from reports of yesterdays game say BENEVIDES was by far and away the M.O.T.M. Therefore in this instance a "poll" would be a waste. Do others agree on this. Comments welcome.

Wont disagree with you on that Cookie. It's good to see PB being appreciated after some of the stick he's had on this forum. Difference was probably the nature of the game which allowed him to go forward a lot of the time and we weren't so much in need of him in a defensive role. Perhaps a bit like Ashley Cole a few years back, always looked exciting going forward but a few rash decisions in his defensive play - matured a lot since then and a far more all round player now.

By the sound of it ,i am one such person who must unreservedly apologise that i never could see PB as a conference player.CK correcctly it appears, obviously could

Delighted that hopefully i may be so wide of the mark, and wish him well.

I must say, that there was imo a noticeable improvement in Thurrock game, and by sound of it, even more yesterday.

At that rate of improvement, he will be in England side in two years.

As above ,think a bit of tackling practice would not go amiss, but my main early concerns were a complete lack of positional sense.Think this also still needs improvement

Overall however, obviously i was so so wrong, and again unreservedly apologise where i certainly was critical early in season.

Just shows you can't judge a player on just a few appearances. Some of our better players have been written off on this forum and given loads of stick, when all they needed was time to establish themselves. My favourite example is Che. Anybody got any other examples they want to share with us?

I have been a supporter of Peter from the outset, but I think he needed time to adapt to our style of play, very different from whence he has come I think. Also playing him out of position did not do him any favours. I am glad his potential is being recognised.

Primarily, our patchy displays this season can be accounted for by the lack of pre-season and a settled squad, plus our ongoing problems off pitch. CK is steadily building and I think our results will incrementally improve.

Our chief disservice to date was to Scott Ward, he had the makings of a very sound goalkeeper and has proved that since leaving us. To blame that awful defeat by Grays on him was unfair, in my opinion we were seriously bad in defence at the start of the season. Nej was also a casualty of this situation and I still think he is a promising player. I am just glad we have attracted an equally talented goalie in Trego.

The problem has been that we were expecting an easy passage in this league and it has turned out to be more challenging than many expected, and with our uncertain future we have been very prickly about any perceived lack of form from our players. Hard as it is to be patient and conslidate I think that that is a reasonable attitude until we can get back to Hartsdown. We have tremendous talent, experience, and unproved but rising stars in our team but now is the time to be supportive and not pick holes in their individual performances because we are eager for a quick fix and a return to that which we have lost.
