I've got the Morrissey album, and the Blur one is obviously excellent, but nothing else on your list really catches my eye.

Heard alot about this Joss Stone tart - her first album was all old soul covers, yeah? But I heard her new single, and it's dreadful - just the sort of rubbish that Kelly Clarkson or one of these "I got attitude" "R'n'B" nobodies would put out. Hardly classic soul.

For the record, I have the following CDs with me today...

  • The Best Of Lindisfarne (which I'm currently listening to)
  • Norah Jones - Feels Like Home (one of the best albums of a very poor year for albums)
  • The Best Of Cat Stevens
  • Wings - Back To The Egg
  • The Best Of Jefferson Airplane

Hmmmm, been listen to the new Libetines album. After dismissing it as a pile of sh*te, I now think it's quite a good album. That and the new Green Day. Piss poor band make a decent album.

Also been listen to an American band called Thornsley...and yep, my mind did turn to a "mutual forum adversary". A bit heavy but enjoyable all the same.

And Crosby, Stills & Nash (got the new Crosby / Stills album which is good). YB (Zeal), check out CPR. You'll like. Crosby with his son. A bit west coast but very good.

Haven't played any cat Stevens for some time. Haven't got the "best off", got "Forienger", "Tea For The Tillerman", "Catch A Bull" and the other one. Can't remember the name..."Fire Cat" or something. Great albums.

The Rough Trade album is brilliant, loads of little dittys from the late 80's when indie was still underground, and the Feild Mice get better every time I hear them (which is about 14 years now)

Any fan of Modern Day Primal Scream should check out the track from 1985 on there!

So far I've heard the Lovers album and as gertcha said it is well good.

The Ash album isn't their best but there are a few well good songs on there.

Joss Stone was nice to listen to as I completed my figurework last night, you can borrow it if you want Zeal <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Ravenottes album is also well good and was CD1 of the Rough Trade album.

I'll try and listen to the rest tonight

I'm happy to hear that first Joss Stone album, mate. It's this new stuff she's doing which pisses me off.

The music press rave about this great soul voice from a white, British 17-year old, and then as soon as she starts doing 'original' material, they turn her into a carbon-copy American brat-kid.

Ash have turned into Busted. Zero interest these days.
