I thought the local residents were firmly against any enlargement of the current ground and the traffic and disturbance that goes with it.

 

The residents complaints were the main reason planning permission was turned down when Lazarou wanted to upgrade the facilities (so that EFC could groundshare there).Apparently local residents were fearful of large crowds attending matches.

 

As such a planning precedent has already been set regarding building a new stand ( something that will be needed to achieve 'conference south' football).

 

Even if CFC can get planning go-ahead. I would still cost about 100k to bring the ground up to 'Conference south' standards. As thats not going to come from gate receits.i hope the 'new money' has very deep pockets.

As far as Laz's planning application was concerned, basing his traffic impact assessment on a gate of 1500 every home game probably got relations with local residents off to just the sort of start someone who wasn't serious might have wanted-allegedly

I think the trouble is, fruitbat got too used to the lack of atmosphere at Boreham wood at the end of his EFC days and is trying to capture that peace and tranquility at Cheshunt FC.

 

Maybe he isn't up to standing amounst big crowd, or the singing,or the atmoshere that he enjoyed in his years of watching EFC and more recently ETFC....His recent forays to the(even more serene) Abbey may highlight that fact. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/pipe.gif" alt="" />

Fruitbat ,The price of a pint has gone up to £2.50 a pint I know they have paul phillips taking over the clubhouse but thats not the way to start winning new fans .I was there myself saturday and it was very quiet with only just over 100 there and the most part from hendon and your new friend is right about alex's raffle and scratchcard it is a ripoff.
