Five FA Cup stars have been nominated by our panel for The FA’s prestigious FA Cup ‘Player of the Round’ award, run in partnership with UMBRO, after their Second Round Qualifying heroics.

They include two hat-trick heroes, two players who scored twice and another who scored a dramatic last minute equaliser - in the seventh minute of added time!

In the running for the award are AFC Wimbledon’s midfielder Rob Ursell, who hit the net three times in his side’s 3 - 0 win over Dunstable Town, and Lincoln United’s Gary Bull, cousin of former Wolves and England striker Steve, who scored three in a 5 - 0 victory over Winsford United.

Joining them are AFC Newbury’s Lee Chudy, who scored twice in a 4-2 win over his former club Basingstoke Town and Maidstone United’s Simon Austin, two-goal hero in a 2 - 1 win over Redbridge. Maidstone deserve special mention after progressing at the expense of a team three leagues above them.

Completing the line-up is Stalybridge Celtic’s Paul Sykes, who scored a dramatic equaliser in the seventh minute of added time, enabling his side to earn a home replay this Tuesday, after drawing 3-3 away at Barrow.

i saw this on the site so you can only be the best player if you score goals ??? doesnt matter if you clear one off the line in the last min to help your team to win or if you are a goalie who made some great saves this seams slightly unfair to me

Putting an AFC Wimbledon player on a poll pretty much makes the result inevitable. Four of the players appear to have been given the nod for scoring two goals or more. The last looks to have been nominated because of the timing of his goal, rather than anything else. On that basis I would have thought Chopper may have been in the frame rather than the Celtic lad, but never mind.

I voted for the non-AFC hat-trick scorer, and wasn't surprised to see the Wimbledon player had about 90 per cent of the vote
