Slough Town 4-1 Welling United

Glen Harris (pen), then a Welling equaliser struck into the roof of the net at the far post. Steve Daly scored a cracking volley (!) from a low cross for 2-1, and Harris made it 3-1 just before half-time. Josias Carbon wrapped it up in the second half. An excellent, confident victory against a poor Welling side, and deserved revenge for last season ! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Yeah, great stuff by the lads. We started very slowly and I feared the worst.

A quick summary for anyone not there - Winky saved well early on and the deflection off Daly went just wide.

We got a penalty when one of their defenders decided to foul Spence when he was going for a header - Chopper scoring from the Spot.

They equalised when Chopper gave away a free-kick and Spiller shot in at the far post.

Just before h-t Steve Daly scored a right-footed volley (!!!!) bottom corner then with the last kick of the half Chopper scored after their keeper saved well from Seedel.

Second half we bossed and Carbon wrapped it up.

Very comfortable in the end. Looked good at the back. Seedel is getting beeter and better with Wilko the MOM by a mile in my opinion.

The new sub looked handy. Not sure on his name? Anyone get it? Something Bizzy??

Oh and looking at the Welling messageboard it seems Paul Parker resigned after the game.

Not wanting to take away from the performance, but what a poor crowd turnout despite a decent set of numbers travelling. Very poor atmosphere as well, but that will happen on occasion I guess.

Anyway, good on the pitch performance from the team. Once we went in front the second time, there was no looking back. Well done to all.

Yes, not a great crowd considering it was our 'Cup Final' after all (see Welling forum) http://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/forum.jsp?id=495

I think the dark clouds overhead had some bearing on it.

BTW Paul I think players only have to be registered with the club by midday on the Friday before the FA Cup game (i.e. yesterday).

Well, at least it's only away from home for us. Rather that, than both as you are.

Is this like a one-man crusade to alienate all Slough fans into thinking the Welling fans are all like you? It's working, although I feel sorry for the 'decent' Wings, as you are tarnishing them with your bad image.

Having looked over what has been posted on the Welling site, you've brought a lot of it on yourself with your comments Darren and are continuing to do so over here.

You've clearly forgotten how to lose with grace which the majority of Wings fans haven't done, following on from today's match.
