I know you love baiting Crawshaw, but...

Merv

Recommended Posts

Discussion on the Canvey board has been very good of late. Gradually more and more users are posting messages that are, in the main and The Great Escape excepted, all about football. We give each other a bit of stick but nothing is offensive or below the belt. The level of humour is generally high (thanks Wilf).

May I make a plea that whenever the tosspot John Crawshaw posts on the general board we all resist the temptation to reply. When we did this towards the end of last season he got bored and went away. The average intellect of all postings immediately doubled.

If this loser with the chip on his shoulder has nobody to argue with he might go away again. I'm not scared of his banal rantings, but so pee'd off because he just keeps coming back and back and back. Ignore him in future, otherwise our discussion board will sink back down to the depths it reached last year when most of us were, in some way or another, offended and/or embarrassed by it.

Remember, if you really want to listen to an a r s e h o l e you can always f a r t.

I don't agree on that one Basil-Don, If the idiot knows we are going to ignore him, he will continue just to get at us. What we have with RJC is a psycho, ask Dr Zbungle.. I must admit he brings out instincts in me that worries me should I meet him one day. Why not have admin inform them by mail, it has been done before - to you Ian/Merv!!

I do fear, should this RJC continue to post with the usual 'Hate everything Canvey' then without doubt, people will leave in droves!

Glad I logged on and looked at this forum first as I had a reply waiting for RJS. I take your point that he just won't quit and loves responses to his posts. It's a shame however that the open forum is de-valued by just one poster. Apart from one or two, most other posters to the open forum on the whole seem okay. Do other forums have this problem or are we the only lucky ones to have this problem and have to go underground to communicate without receiving rubbish posts! Is there another way of solving this somehow.

I think Merv is right - ignore him and he will go away.

A w a n k e r like Crawshaw only knows he is winding you up if you bother to reply. Without his audience and their reaction to his provocation, I believe he will crawl back under his stone.

Perhaps admin could let the people named in Basil-Don's post know that there is a better life on THIS board?

ahhh a good shoeing...reminds me of my rugby days

to shoe.. to administer ones rugby boots to an opponents back whilst they are immobile on the deck in a perfectly legal attempt to flay the skin from his back...

also known as 'the slipper' and the 'props riverdance'..

some rugbty traditionalists may refer to it as rucking...

side effects often include a brisk right hander from members of the opposition..

i firmly believe crawshaw is the man for me to brush my skills up on...unless of course he is a 6 ft 8 ex royal marine.. in which case i am happy to let it slide

Canv, what about the old 'tar and feathers' trick as often demonstrated by those loonies off Jackass...

tar and feathers, to administer a barrell of tar onto said victim (in this case RJC) and then proceed to slap said person about the general head and torso area with pillow cases so contents of pillow are left sticking to victim. Then as victim runs around making bird noises covered in feathers a select band of Canvey FC message board 'clients' could take aim with paint ball weapons and proceed to pepper said victim with pot shots !! I can see it now "my names Merv and this is the duck challenge ..."

Thanks for the support on this one. Ian and I have discussed banning Crawshaw but he uses an on-line email address (the sort you get from Yahoo and other providers, rather than a POP3 account) and just keeps re-registering under different names. Once he does this and starts crying about censorship other more normal idiots (there are several from St Albans and one or two from Bedford who are members of the I Hate Canvey Society) start to back him up and before you know where you are, we have a full scale attack coming in from all sides. This happened last year and even spread to the Non-League Ryman site. A big campaign was launched against Jeff King personally that was quite unpleasant. In the end Ian and I got an apology from Steve at the NLR site but the damage had been done.

I am always happy to get involved in banter and leg-pulling on the general discussion board but once the RJS type of idiot gets involved, I tend to pull out. Better to start a new thread. These morons thrive on getting a response and I have been guilty on more than one occasion of reacting in the way they have wanted me to. Much to my shame.

Any one of you can take the p**s out of me, just like I do out of Ian. If it's funny we are usually the first to laugh. Insults from Crawshaw are rarely funny, usually obnoxious and do nothing to further the fellowship amongst all of us who love non-league footy.

Final point before we close this thread. How terrific to see, in the messages above, that fellowship I referred to. It's a bloke thing, but all working together and enjoying a leg-pull is very good therapy for us all. Well done to all of you.

Well put, as usual Merv. Just been reading the Gravesend board to see if he posts on there. Under the topic Geoff Chapple, Dave GNFC has mentioned to RJS why he was surprised he has managed to drag himself away from the Canvey message board. His response was that he feels he has to “keep us in our place”. He even mentions that he would still like to play us in the FA Cup. Total obsessive. To ignore him may be the best ploy. If/when he posts a message on our board, that thread should end with no-one responding to him and anyone can start another thread with nearly the same topic heading. Don’t know if it will work but you never know.

Well, I have a friend who insists that the very best cure for the RJS Brigade is called 'Lead in the Ear', it certainly does the trick especially if applied by the use of a shotgun.

Not too sure how much it would cost though, anyone want to start a collection;-)
