I think he may of played for our reserves last night (chesham that is), probably because we haven't got a game this weekend.

 

If I'm not mistaken wasn't he the one who scored in the play off game, and I think it may of been a long range effort?

He was certainly due to play for you last night, from what I was told.

 

He was our man of the match by a long long away in the play off final at Bedford even though his goal was a scrambled deflection from close in!

 

If you do get him, you will have got yourself one hell of a player especially if you play him centre midfield, which is his best position, although at the moment he is nothing like match fit.

 

Don't read anything into it that we have let him go. He was never played in his best position at St.Albans and never appreciated. Our management wouldn't know a quality player if it stared them in the face. That's why we are where we are now in the league and why we had such a dreadful season last year.

 

Not one of our genuine fans wanted to see Greg leave but as I understand it, the position he was left in by the management made it simply untenable for him to stay.

Good luck to the boy from me. With all respect to Chesham, I have a feeling that he will attract interest from higher up the pyramid once he returns to match fitness.

 

He is one of the good guys. Taught me all I need to know about 'channels' once in the clubhouse after a game. The interesting thing is that the idea is to keep the ball down on the green bit when playing 'channels', the opposite of playing 'keepy-uppy'. And nothing to do with 'oofing it long'. It's fascinating stuff.

 

I hear that Will Davies is at Chesham, too. Good luck to him.

Yes, we signed Will Davies but I think he's a back up player, he played one game, we lost 5-1 and haven't seen much of him since. I think he will get a run in the team when our suspensions and injuries hit in.

 

Hopefully Greg will have the 'Sippo' effect, he's now scored 40 odd goals in 60 games, which is not a bad ratio, he hasn't played as much this season, but scored a good goal against Hednesford last week. I think we need a strong centre mid, after all you can't rely on Andy Adebowale all your life.
