Ian. You do a fantastic job. This was the best message board in the whole history of the Universe. Everybody loves you. I would like to have your babies.

 

Now:

 

a]. Is there any chance at all that you could change everything back to the way it was yesterday?

 

b]. If yes to a]., thanks very much. If no, is there any chance that you could add the wallpaper/display stuff that I previously had to the list of options? I think that it was 'blue 3D' or something like that. You could probably look it up in the ether. It wont take a mo.

 

c]. How does one get to the page thing where one can send a PM?

I will be adding additional stylesheets shortly. Problem is I had to do a MAJOR upgrade - short of closing the forums for a week, the only way is to go back to basics and re-build.

 

The layout will hopefully change on a daily basis.

 

It has taken about 40 hours work this week alone to get to this point - I realise it is not ideal - but we will get there

A word of warning Ian. We have another chap here and all he does is tinker. Tinker, tinker, tinker. Webbo. Nice chap but his main ambition in life is to re-invent the wheel.

By the way - CANV sent me a PM last night which I didn't get round to reading. Now it's disappeared. Any idea how I can retrieve it??

I have added some more stylesheets - some might need a little tinkering to get them perfect. I have also changed the default one. If someone wishes to design a new stylesheet, please feel free.

 

Zeal - it will change daily - simply because to build a faster, better site I had to rfe-build the foundations - at times you can only build so many extensions, plaster over cracks etc., before you either have to move or knock it down and start again.

 

It was becoming impossible for me to add new features to code that was 12-24 months old.

 

First things first is to get my new games arcade up and running for folks

re: Private Messages.

 

1) It's not allowing me to keep original message in the text anymore, which is a shame as I liked that and it was very useful.

 

2) How come we're not allowed to swear in Private Messages anymore?

1) I will look into that - you mean quoting?

 

2) You are - the fact that the filter did not extend to PM's was one of many 'bugs' in the old script. In fact you will find that a lot of the original swear words in fact have been removed. Just don't abuse it

It keeps logging me out, for some reason.

 

And when I log back in again, it shows all the posts I'd previously read, as being un-read again.

Clear your cookies and log back in - either go to 'My Home' and click on the 'My Cookies' link - or log out, clcik on the restart login (or words to that effect - to clear your cookies - then log back in.

 

You might be left with one support cookie (not sure why, yet)

 

Problem is the cookies are probably getting confused.

 

If it doesn't solve the problem let me know.

Zealster, I just thought it was me, i have been thrown out so many times. Finally deleted the cookies 4 times, and deleted my avator and put it back in twice.

Did you notice you can't hover over a post anymore, you know see if its worth reading or not.
