drove down today as the weather was [****!!****]....

 

nice friendly people and really looking forward to us coming which was nice....yeah I copped the copter song in a packed bar...good crack all round actually.... <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

 

first 20 minutes we battered 'em and should have had at least 3 if not more....they scored on 26 and I'm sure it was the first time in our half...bayseys first touch was picking the fckn ball out of the net.... <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

 

anyway...purser scored on halftime but in the second they seeme livelier and scored again...macca equalised and the game ended end to end...either side could have nicked it...

 

crap lady ref and a full 22 man melee added to the cracking atmosphere and the boys had a right good crack with the nooport lot...no friction at all off the pitch...

 

on balance I was pleased to scarper with the point....the pitch was awful and our players couldn't pass it around...

 

fair credit to nooport though...once they got in front their backs were up and they did very well....

It was a good game. You're one of the more friendly bunches and for the first time in ages there was some good banter to be had (you wouldn't believe the amount of teams who confuse our chanting with ABH). Game was well fought with a ref who can't cope at this level. Some very good goals, although we fought for dear life in the first period. Just think the distance you traveled today is about the same distance we have to travel for most of our home games yet we still take 200 (something I'm very proud of) mind it will get worse you have exeter and maybe even carlisle next year. Apologies for interupting you run of games won in a row - but it was a fantatsic performance to watch and a great send off to our caretaker manager and with the injuries we have it is a great testimony to his abilities of organisation and to our youth products ( the three in the middle). Hope you enjoyed your day at newport stadium - have a nice year.

We all enjoyed our visit to your ground and appreciate the long journeys you have to make, but it's what Saturdays are made for.

Good banter as you say, nice bar and excellent service thanks to Tina and co.

I was met by David and all your stewards were very courteous and helpful, so a big thank you.

Shame about the melee at the end but sometimes these things happen so let's not dwell on that one.

You lot didn't bring 200 to Hornchurch last year????

No we didn't, but we took over 200 to Havant, just under 200 to Hayes, about 150 to thurrock and about the same to Basingstoke. Also just over 100 to st albans on a weekday. And if we are near the top 7 come january we'll take about 200 to you this year.
