Billericay 6-1 Kingstonian

For the first real time this season we took most of the chances that came our way, Bertie and Danny linking well together particularly for Danny's first goal.

Kingstonian are obviously a poor side but it was good that we made the most of it (when was the last time we scored six in the league anyone?)

Lets keep it going into FA Cup next week and beyond.

Our performances of late have suggested it was only a matter of time before someone got a hiding and so it was.

We were very impressive in the first half and the K's had no answer to our pace and technique. It has to be said that had their keeper not made 3 or 4 very good saves the half time scoreline could have been doubled.

In the second Kingstonian played a bit of nothing to lose football but even tho they had a greater share of possession than in the first (not difficult) Gothard only had one save to make ( apart from their goal of course). I thought Justin made good and well timed substitutions yesterday and all three had a positive impact. I was also impressed that we came back and "won" the second half.

Plenty of positives from this game, of course Hockers who it seems can't miss and initial signs from his partnership with Brayley look very tasty, and great to see Stowey get on the scoresheet as our now super improved goal diff lifts us into third (I think).

I don't buy the "the opposition was poor" line. People seem to trot that out everytime we have a decent result. Let's just be pleased with the way we have performed.

I feel sorry for the loyal K's supporters but all I can say is chins up, we were in the same position 18 months ago. You never know what's round the corner!!

Gothard

Henty McSweeney Sappleton Kerrigan

Heeroo Hunter Forbes (Game) Dormer (Cousins)

Hockton Brayley (Stowe)

I was impressed with the K's support and thought they got behind their team well, even when it looked that it was "game over"...So a big <img src="/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> to them.

The first half we were brilliant but we dipped a bit in the second and Justin has to be praised for the timing of the subs, that I will agree. It was nice to see us finish so strong. I also agree with the "oppo were poor" comments that jl made. You can only beat what is in front of you. And the K's were no worse than the majority of the teams in the league that we have played...

Well done the lads and I'm looking forward to Dorking.

Id agree with all thats been asid above. I thought the boys were absolutely excellent yesterday and deserve every credit. MoM has to go to Hockers for a superb hat -trick, but i also thought Brayley turned in another very good performance, and i thought Danny K made the most of his appearance too.

Its always great to see your team stick a hatful in the net, but it was especially sweet seeing as weve had problems in that department this season. Also we showed that we can keep our concentration at the back whilst were attacking so much in a game.

Although we went off the boil a little in the second half, i thought that was understandable considering that the game was already won, and we never looked uncomfortable through the whole afternoon.

On a slightly shallow note i enjpyed seeing some good quality goals yesterday, they were all very well taken (even the og!). We often turned in scrappy goals in the early part of the season, and though they all count, its nice to see that were showing our true class on the pitch.

Would like to reiterate comments about the travelling support, every credit to them for sticking with it, i certainly wouldnt have been so buoyant if we had been 4-0 down at half time, in fact id probably be out the door.

Sadly that was my last game until Christmas, so im back to supporting via Teletext, Vidiprinter and Internet again.

Give the boys an extra big cheer from me until Christmas and ill be following our fortunes closely

Probably as good a display of finishing as I've seen from a Billericay team, the confidence running through the side at the moment is tangible. Could easily have been more goals, their keeper made some excellent saves, the one from Dorms especially good. The really exciting thing imho is that there is still more to come from this team, particularly as the likes of Forbes and Game get fitter (remember both missed all of pre-season and I reckon it'll be a few games yet before Forbes is fully up to speed). Good to see Stowey get his first goal of the season, even if he was only on the pitch for 5 minutes! Nice to see Henty get the captain's armband after Dorms went off, just reward for an excellent start to the season.

From what I've seen this season, the gap between top and bottom is narrow. If we had shown finishing like that at Yeading we could have easily scored 4 or 5 goals, and Gothard has still to concede more than one in a game!

Not up with Non League football and it's related F A Competitions are we, Mr. Thornsey?

Never mind, next season, you can enjoy Ryman League football and familiarize yourself with it as your club will be all the more closer to competing in the Vase.

And when do you play Bognor? or have you played them already?

Thanks for the kind words/support our way. However, despite us generally playing decent football, we have fundamental problems - the significant one being we are consistently the league's non-scorers. The last time we got two goals in a game was in the week we played you last time - April.

As with most of our games, it was almost over once the first goal went in. We need to somehow get the points in asap because we have such a young inexperienced team that I can see it breaking us (especially when added to our off-field woes).

I was not expecting this result, as we have been known for giving a low side 3 points. This was certainly different and I enjoyed it. DH well deserved his hatrick. Great all round team performace although I still feel Dormer is not up to his best. But if we can continue in this vein I cannot see anyone in this division causing us a problem. "Famous last words."

As previously said the K's supporters were admirable, I have heard our supports booing our players when giving a better performance than the K's did. Hopefully the K's will improve and win this league next year to join us in the Conference.
