Hall, Smith, Negus, Campbell, Baldwin, Hall, Wright, Hall, Pamplin, Riley, Nyman, Francis, Masala, Finch, Kitenge, Al K……(sorryI’ll get it one day)

An early goal in the 8th minute from a lovely little header from the edge of the 6 yard box gave town an early lead 1 – 0. Large number of chances went begging a various player including Asa Pamplin missed some absolute sitters. Then we sat back and Lee Smith made an absolute howler of a throw-in (in a new position of Wing back) that put Chopper in no man’s land to be rescued for a corner. The Corner came in and a drilled shot for bottom corner went through a mass of bodies 1- 1. Chalfont St Peters only shot on target in the first half. I bet the air was blue in the changing room as the coaching team needed to wake our boys up who looked a bit tired (or unfit).

Second half the team came out and were a bit better going forward On the 65th minute the team came forward Rudi fed the ball on and an unmarked Lee Smith made amends with a lovely goal 2 -1. I didn’t see what happened but Rudi went down whilst the goal was scored and Shayne Chandler was adjudged to have been the culprit. The ref ordered both of them to cool it. A few minutes later he saw them both at it again and booked both of them. On the 78th minute Dean Nyman got a scramble goal and that was it 3 – 1 and you couldn’t see Chalfont coming back from that.

Not the best performance you’ve ever seen but if you play not particularly well and still win that is a result. Prize money of £600 again. Keep it coming boys.

Good to see and hear Enfield Colts there singing and shouting for the town.

Good Officials tried to be even handed even when they got the decisions wrong. Two wrongs made a right.

A decent performance by Town on Saturday, I thought. Several plus points:

1) Carey Wright in the second half looked to be getting back on form

2) I thought Steve Baldwin did very well at the back - apart from a shaky couple of minutes very early on

3) excellent to see Lee Smith finally thru his injury problems. I'm sure he doesn't like playing wing back (and Daniel Francis must wonder what he has got to do to start a game) but Smiffy made a good job of it - and scored!!

We have a strong squad this year, with players pushing for selection in all positions. Bradley, Snowden, Geraghty, Asiedu, Everitt all out on Saturday - all could come in and do a job for us.

Let's keep this good run of results going on Tuesday night!!
