Entertaining draw and all that, breakneck speed.

 

The game wasn't a classic and was definantly helped by the 10th minute clash of heads between both thier centre backs which saw them both leave in an ambulance.

I think two of the goals were the fault of Richard Thomas, just to please Jkif.

Great tactics towards the end, chasing the game at 2-3 down we decide to push 3 up front so on came centre back Ben Martin to .... erm play up front while De Souza remained at centre half, bizarre!

We used our 27th player of the season yesterday.

Both teams are in for a long hard winter.

I was chatting to the Sports reporter from the Maidenhead Observer/Argus/Crow/whatever and his summary was that "The game lacked nothing apart from quality".

I suspect he is still carrying that injury. I didn't see him do that much kicking and he threw the ball out for the most part. Despite that, was easily man of the match for us.

Well, I would have been happy with anything other than a defeat (ambition , eh?) - so I can't really complain. 9 pounds for 6 goals, so that's 1.50 each - not bad value for money.

 

We still haven't kept a clean sheet this season - don't know if there's a point to that, I just noticed it whilst I was perusing the results list. Maybe we can borrow that coach from Spuds?

Anyone witness the argument between Jon Farmer and the Thorns?

 

Bloody funny, so I've heard!!

Was it about Basingstoke at half time? I remember Jon Farmer singing about Bournemouth in the bar after the game.

The argument was top class...

 

During the first half Thorns said to him, unexpectedly, "Gibson's gotta go!"

 

Jon, the worse for drink, went into one.

 

Then at half-time Jon was celebrating Bournemouth being 4-0 up and then said something derisary about MK Dons who were winning. Thorns said he supported their actions in moving to MK (or similar) and an argument started which seemed to move on to whether Basingstoke had ever been relegated. Thorns suggested they had. This went on for several minutes.

 

All in all a great argument.
