Just got it - The Jam (there's ALWAYS one by the Jam!). Start. 1980.

 

Blatant bass-line rip-off of Taxman. Superb!!

Radiohead and Creep - they played in St.A in 92 or 93 not sure which one.
(The Jam didn't play there as far as I know)

Year 1:

 

Totally Unessential Band who's Singer has something in common with Liam G.

The song is the one that goes "la,la,la,la,la, la........." towards the end

 

 

Year 2:

 

This song was number one, and features a female vocalist. In the video the drummer wore a Maddness T-shirt.

The tune was very similar (but wasn't it) to the Street Hawk theme tune. His band would have been right up Thornsy's street.

 

Year 2:

 

A Taff band. This was one of their better efforts and a clue to the song is what Leigh Page now does on matchdays.
