Best team ever in a 4-4-2 formation.

CB. JOHN DELANEY (READING& ENGLAND)

CB. ERIC YOUNG (BRIGHTON-WIMBLEDON-WOLVES&WALES)

LB. RAY EATON (ENGLAND)

RMF. STEVE THOMPSON (WYCOMBE)

CMF.ROGER DAY (ENGLAND)

CMF.TERRY REARDON (ENGLAND)

LMF.LES BARRETT (FULHAM)

STRIKER. JOHN RITCHIE (ARSENAL& ENGLAND)

STRIKER. PETER FEELEY. (CHELSEA & ENGLAND)

 

ALL THE ENGLAND GAMES WERE OF COURSE NON-LEAGUE.BUT ERIC YOUNG WON FULL INTERNATIONAL CAPS.-GIVEN THE SAME FITNESS LEVELS AS TODAY.I BELIEVE THIS TEAM WOULD WIN THE CONFERENCE COMFORTABLY.

Not sure I agree with some the players although all where excellent, I would of cerainly found a place for (or at least on the subs bench)

 

GK Baron (Aston Villa amongst others)

CB Droy (Chelsea)

MD Paris (3rd Division player of the year

before his injury)

MD Pat Morrisey (Everton)

ST Kemp (was a better player than feely when playing at Slough IMO)
