last night

Have read the other posts on the game last night. Some i can agree with some i can't. Tonight was my first sight of the new keeper, pulled off a great save 1st half, generaly safe but dodgy on crosses in busy area but good enough to be able to cover his mistakes. I thought the defence played well enough,in fact the best that i have seen this season. AB(winning everything in the air),Bill and DA played like demons. The midfield especially JK battled, Che looked a little sluggish at times but still worked hard. Rocky worked harder than i have seen this season especially in the second 1/2 after he became frustrated with the treatment he was getting off the Thurrock thugs. He was booked for barging after the whistle/ref had spoken to him. I am an unashamed fan of Peter Benevides and his goal was a superb effort running down the left ,turning inside and hitting the net.But it is the occasional touches and tight turns that i think make him a very exciting prospect. Which was the best goal, i cant slit them realy. Best player, Barnett, won everything. The word/attitude to sum up Thurrock appeard on the list of players,B A S H A M. What ever the outcome of what was rumoured at the Game(KP looked very Down) I am proud of the Club, the Team,And proud of the group of loyal supporters that form M A A A A A A A A A A A A R G A T E FC.

KP seemed a tad more cheerful last night than when I last saw him, but I think he is putting his heart, soul and anything else available into keeping us going and is probably extremely knackered! I hope for his sake that some movement forward on the ground will come soon, but I stay aware of how much we owe him.

But I agree with you blueblood, pride takes a big part of my feelings out of everything to do with this club.

Can't agree with you BLUEBLOOD on Barnett. He didnt win many in the air at all. In fact most of the time he just jumped and hoped for the best and generally came of 2nd best. He did improve near the end of the game but generally I wasnt impressed with him. Just a big lump but then again I have been wrong before so maybe next time I see him he will make me eat my words but on last nights showing a very average player for his build. Dont really know what game you were watching to praise him as you do.

Added to that we hardly ever won balls in the air at the back and that is a downfall with the defence at the moment. No-one was going for it and winning it. I shudder evertime a high ball goes into our box.People jump but jump with their eyes closed I think cos' they never get near the ball. Again I dont know what game you were watching. We were the team in BLUE shirts and NOT in the WHITE shirts. Did you mistake the teams.

Obviously i went to a different game than you, as did the other guys who sat with me in the stand. The human eye is a funny thing, its like two people standing watching a crime from the same place can give totally different statements they both vary according to each ones perceptions, i suppose its the same with football. As far as lumping goes ,yes there was a lot, ufortunatly it seems that the way most teams play at this level. the Gate played some good football when the game allowed <img src="/images/graemlins/bow.gif" alt="" />
