Brentwood double header in October?

..and people slagged me off at the start of the season for bemoaning this fact. Romford's next lot of fixtures seem similarly odd, with matches scheduled against the same side very close together. Seems strange that despite all the flack, the powers that be have never left the trenches to explain all.

PS can we get relegated from the ESL??????

It is strange that players are straining a b*llock trying to get away from work on a tuesday for matches when two months later they will have gaps on the saturdays????? <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I know we have to try and get matches in before the bad weather starts but apart from that point can anyone see the light?????!?!?!?!?

The end of last season was shambolic and it looks like we will end up the same way this season

Despite players; officals and supporters complaining the ivory towers of essex choose to ignore the input of those that keep the league going.

An explaination would be nice; but as we have seen before the paying public in the ESL are there to be ignored; so don't hold your breath.

I Busted my [****!!****] to get to Concord last night through rush hr road works on a13 Traffic on a127 a joke left work at 5pm got to Concord 6.45.

Like you lot said later on in the year we will have no games on saturdays.

Don't forget about the fans they all have to work & travel as well they may leave home or work a bit later but not much later than us.

i think the league should take a look at the southern div they arange the midweek fixtures so that teams do as little traveling as possible and more traveling on saturdays.

Just to make the point that squeezing as many matches in as possible in case of a bad weather patch would make sense if the ESL were a 22 team league or more.

There is certainly no logic to the way the fixtures are put together to reflect the geographical location and accessibility of the competing sides OR especially the financial implications to the home side when well supported clubs are the visitors. Particularly when they only have to be produced monthly as well.

I realise that the fixtures are compiled by volounteer league committee members but if it's too much for them then they should swallow their pride and pass the job over.

OR is there a computer software available into which one can place ALL the variable information

to get a fixture list (subject to unknowns like cup replays of course) that pleases at least most of the competing clubs and doesn't appear to have been compiled at the whim of someone who isn't wholly "on the ball"!

I note a loud chorus of complaints mounting already only a month and a half into the season about the illogicallity of fixtures. Complaints which will probably rise to a crescendo in March/April 2005.

We have the best part of an eight month season so why should any club have to play another more than once in a month home or away, league or league cup unless outside cup fixtures pit them against each other as well.

Come on ESL let's have a rethink. You know it makes sense!

Do they not do comprehension at school anymore ?
err don't under stand

any way let's get back on track -

why are the ESl so quiet on every issue - fixtures has been a thorny one for a while; if the incumbent can't do it then role over and let someone else

or if there is a logical reason then please explain
