Ideas

Recommended Posts

Were looking for new ideas for the website - any new sections you would like to see on the website for the new season let us know!

Next season we are hoping to do many more interviews with the manager as I doubt i'll be doing the NLP reports any more as I don't really want to do it, so myself and Gary can stay behind and talk to the manager and get news for the site.

As well as the site were also looking for ideas and support for the new ground. As many of you know the allotment holders have a petition of signatures - what can we do to counteract this?

I know there is not much news coming from the club at the moment - but please be patient, it's close season and with Slough lots of news tends to come through at once (like when we signed Gallagher, McCann, Howard and Louis on the same day last season!)

Also please also note that the ground development is still going on. Be there from 10am on Saturday mornings

Chris,

As I said back in May:

"This needs to be done really professionally, with the communications coordinated. We really need to decide what is the message we want to get over and who are the different interest groups we need to get on board, Local residents, People who may be affected but further afield (on routes to the ground for example), local councillors, planning committee, Slough Residents in general, supporters, local media, and then select the best method to get to each group - be it meetings, leaflets, web, press releases etc. Can the club do this or are the supporters going to have to do it?"

So in answer to your question, we really need to get the Club PR setup (who does this, Roy?) and the Supporters Association working together - why not a call for volunteers to form an action committee to get some of these things going like identifying who do we need to influence and then get on with influencing them, and finding out how Chris Sliski can be supported in his Supporters Association role. We can ask people to write the letters, the posts on the Slough Borough website, and get a series of releases to the Press and local radio. Currently it is not easy for all the people who are concerned about the club to make their contribution to get the plans approved, and we (the general supporters) don't even really know what those plans are, except to move onto somebody's allotment. All the information has come from Chris Sliski, not the Club.

So if the Club Management want some help to get the plans approved, I am sure most fans would want to do something - can we appeal to them to talk to us and involve us, PLEASE! It really must be a joint and coordinated effort for it to work.
