Harlow Town FC 0 Enfield Town FC 1

Recommended Posts

Team

Hall, Campbell, Baldwin, Gant, Hall, Negus, Wright, Hall, Riley, Brotherton, Nyman, Pamplin, Karim Al-, Finch, Francis, Masala

The first half was very much cat and mouse with neither side conceding too much with Harlow town getting the best of most exchanges through using the long ball and getting a man on to it. Than fans struggled to find a place in the Harlow ground that gave a good view. Eventually I settled up on the bank with a few other brave soles dodging the fine rain. The highlight of the first half for town was a pass back to the keeper on the 6 yard line. The ref awarded an indirect free kick which Rudi Hall belted and there was no lucky bounce.

Second half Harlow came out on the attack hard and town were conceding free kicks all around the box fortunately Harlow failed to finish their shots in the net.

In the 60th minute Enfield Town woke up and a Harlow player almost on his line headed the ball out. As soon as Asa Pamplin came on the Town were starting to find a gear they seemed to lack throughout the match.

On the 75th minute was probably the defining moment of the game with a striker with the ball at his feet close in and only chopper to beat. He struck it with venom to choppers right and chopper dived with equal determination to palm the ball round the post. The Enfield Town fans roared and for the first time the Harlow fans found their voice.

On the 77th minute Danny Francis came on (Or as the announcer called him Dean Fran). Town were now on top and it felt like it was only a matter of time before Harlow were put out of their misery. Dean Nyman curled a 35 yard shot towards the keepers left hand corner which he palmed over. On 79 minutes the cross came in and in the words of Andy Hatvani Dean Nyman rose salmon like and headed the ball past the keeper. The town fans erupted and right on queue the heavens opened. The sky was so dark but the ref held off putting the lights on for some time. Enfield Town dug in and occasionally broke away. In injury time Dean Nyman put away the simplest of tap ins which was disallowed because the linesman gave off-side. The Enfield Towns were ecstatic, drowned rats but we didn’t care we won.

A game of two halves and the better team did win in the end!

What a magnificent result for the Town and terrific ambassadors for the League - thank goodness you didn't go to the Ryman... and another thing, I have heard that Barkingside were knoecked out by another ex-Town man, Danny Clarke ( 2 goals ).

What an awful ground!

Why didn't they have the dugouts in front of the stand? That would mean on the "FAR SIDE" you could watch the game with an unobstucted view?

Where wee the stewards, to stop people walking in side the pitch side fence? And to stop people bringin alcohol into the ground?

Game was poor ASA made a difference when he came on; why didn't he start?

Is it true that Adam's recovery is due the his MacD's diet?

DEAN FRAN was named on the team sheet so u can't blame the announcer for not being able to get it right

Next please...

The ground was designed for a clear unhindered view of the 100m running track not for football.

Stuart Snowden was keeping Adam company tucking into the burgers - What I want to know is why they are so skinny on downing as much food as Fruitbat? Are Adam and Stuart trainee Fruitbats?

Seriously, you are doing a fabulous job for the ESL ( that's the club of course , not just you ! ) and I'll have a word in LC's lughole to come out of the closet if he dares !

Poor game, cr*p ground (hope your move comes soon HTFC), good win. Looking forward to the next round!

By way. we've already mentioned Chopper's great save(England's No.2) but credit to the Harlow keeper for his save from Deano's fierce shot from way out of the box.

That stand wasn't a stand, it was a pigeon loft. I know they're moving but those seats hadn't been cleaned since Jesus was a lad. They must have been a health hazard. Still we beat em Yeeeeeeeeeeesssssss!

your spot on jackie every other seat had pigeon c*ap on , and some little Ginger haired girl kept kicking me in the Back ,and then I got soaked in the 2nd half. But the Boys won so it was worth the hassle.

How sorry I feel for those in sat in the comfort of the main stand when brave souls like myself and a few others stood on the bank behind the Harlow goal in the second half.

Yes, I admit we were daft to stand out in all that rain, but we did have a very good view of the whole ground, apart from a few moments when it got dark!

Well done Jim and the boys! Keep bringing on Asa who seems to scare the life out of the opposing defenders - add it gives us another dimension to our play.

Andy's save was even better from where we stood!

Can't wait for the draw tomorrow.
