Peter Taylor (yes, THE Peter Taylor)has agreed to play for Billericay Town FC.

 

It is expected he will get a run out this coming Sunday in the celebration of football game against a Justin Edinburgh X1.

 

Peter has stated that he wants to play a full ninety minutes, but Manager John Newman said he's not been picked yet, we'll see how he shapes up pre match.

 

 

Kick off 2pm, Adults £5.00 Under 12's £1.00

I thought the day went well. The players all seemed to enjoy themselves and so did those supporters that turned up. All in all, old faces meeting new faces and many a story told.

 

MY take on the whole thing is that you can't take away our history, our success and victories. They are there to be celebrated but (and no disrespect to those that played a major part in them) can we get on with the now and future, please.

Sadly i couldnt make it on Sunday. What was the outcome of the game? How many people showed up to watch?

Well the result was 2 all with the game being full of fun and frolicks. I must agree with TC that Peter Taylor's goal was superb. I will quote jl, who said at the game after the goal was scored, "form is temporary, quality is for forever".

The 389+ who attended enjoyed a great afternoon's entertainment.

 

I would like to thank each and every person who took part, helped organize, both before & on the day, and everyone who attended.

Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, I never got to see a lot of the "old boys" play the first time round, but it was impressive to see how they've still got it. The day was an all round success, and I'm sure those returning to the club for the first time in ages will have been impressed with the progress made in terms of facilities etc over the past 25 years!

 

Here's hoping in 25 years we're celebrating the "boys of 2004" and their success!
