Now he may be a bit of a maverick, and i only saw him in a meaningless friendly at Tonbridge, but he did seem a defensive midfielder with a bit of experience, fairly tough and strong who knows what UK non league football is about, and who could manage a simple pass to his own side.

Chris always seems to overlook the importance of midfield.

To me the quality there (or lack of )decides results. You need tough guys who can hold a ball, mixed in with a guy who can give the odd quality pass.

Clarke gives the latter, occasionally JK the former but they need someone else.

Just someone half decent with some experience.WE are realistic-Roy Keane or Paul Ince would be nice, but just someone with a modicum of playing ability would be good.A young guy is great if he has some strength-not powder puffs like our two summer midfield signings.I know we were desperate, but one of those signings was ridiculous.Lets correct that decision now .

Why was Abbott allowed to leave to go to Erith of all places and replaced with the likes of Benevides.

Abbot is ten times the player.

We also needed a keeper so lets see what this guy is like and if any good it will encourage the defense and give them more confidence. This will flow through the team. Start at the back and work our way forward and hopefully thats what CK is now doing. Good to see he realised the keeper needed changing. I only saw Hussein once but could see some frailties there. Lets hope this new guy is more positive and secure. Will have to see! Lets just hope he isnt hit for SIX first game.

More useless information.

Fred Brelaid who never seemed to get much opportunity to show what he could do in pre-season friendlies is actually Fauade Belaid and is now with Farnborough Town.

Not alot of people(want to)know that
