IAN O'CONNELL- Still going strong !

Recommended Posts

Chelmsford City finally registered their first win of the season when an Iain O'Connell double gave them a 2-1 win at local rivals Heybridge Swifts, whose reply came from a late Carl Griffiths penalty.

Lets get IAN back thats what I say. Will do a good job at the back and shore up the defence again. Barnett up front. Perhaps IAN is playing up front now(ha ha)having got BOTH goals.

Absolutely agree with you which brings me back to "whens everything going to kick-start again on that front".Its all too quiet and though grateful to vikki for that statement am assuming thats not "new" information but old. Ooops sorry, got carried away again there. Its just that nothing is coming out really, AGAIN.

Agree that that is the way back up, back to hartsdown!!

But for the present time we dont want to slip any further down the pyramid so we have to shore up things right now to prevent that.Dont want to go where Dover are heading, so that defence MUST be sorted immediately. No panic, just an observation.

We are looking for improvement Michael no matter what it entails,no matter who it involves.Fact of the matter is that IAN is STILL playing and it cannot be worse than what we have at present.

At least we know what we are getting with him and even if it were slightly less than previous it would suffice.

Can I remind you that the players read this site. From the way you talk about players you don't rate (most of the squad it seems) you must be the most disliked supporter. How does that make you feel Michael? Next time you go to a match make yourself known to them, go on but then you probably haven't got the guts!

Thankyou for your comments Forum Watcher.

I do not entirely disagree with your overiding comment, and if you read my posts more carefully, you would see that where i have been critical-actually of one player only- and concerns over Bills recent form i have been toying with the merits/demerits of being publicly critical for some of the reasons that you outline.

However, having followed a team for 29 years, more recently made reasonable financial contributions, and now enduring some performances from certain quarters that in my opinion do not meet minimum standards ,and above all show no sign of being corrected;imo i felt it necessary to be more forthright recently.

Thankyou for noticing the change of emphasis

I must assume that you have read and followed my posts over the last 3 years, and overall you will have found some very encouraging and supportive threads of every aspect of the clubs development.

Maybe that is why i do agree with you, that it is sad that now, one has chosen to be critical of certain small quarters.

I respectfully suggest that whilst players may originally read this forum, they are not likely to be influenced by individual comments and if they are that itself is of concern, as it would suggest that they do not possess the necessary strength of character for their role, and indeed should consider whether they feel happy to take an additional wage for playing semi-pro football if they are unable to accept supporters comments.

As regards remaining anonymous,i do not actively seek a high profile as my business life gives that to me, but you are misguided in your suggestion that i am a 'shrinking violet'.

Lets hope for a win today
