If we don't get promoted next season

Chris--thinking its going to be easy is dangerous thinking. Its like all the twaddle in the away programme about " our rightful place in the conference" its the wrong mindset for gritty hardworking performances. Theres lots of clubs like Oxford City out there who will be only too happy to beat us twice, and will be able to do so if our players are anything less than 100% commited.

I honestly think that our manager is a handicap--that said with at least some progress on the ground, with paying the players on time and getting rid of those players whose main interest is money, lets look forward to a good, but not easy, season

I think next season should be about consolidation. It's obvious we need change at the club, and Browne is one of the main things that need changing. He's more of the problem than Deaner in some respects in the fact that he's the one offering the players silly money (allegedly). Turns out Marshall is on a greatly reduced wage at Aylesbury to what Browne put him on at Slough. Coincidence? I don't think so.

We need to get our finances in order and keep them in order for us to progress. Until such stage, what's the point in being promoted? We'll only end up coming straight back down. I wouldn't say no to a successful season of course, but there is plenty of off field work to be done first.

I think Yeading could also come into that, and a lot of the 'lesser' teams are an unknown quantity and could very easily spring a few surprises. We are still considered a big name and as Ted says, you only need to look at how we play against teams with supposedly more determination that ability to see how easily we can be beaten.

It's definitely a case of wait and see.....

Having seen the teams we shall be competing aganist next season, it does make me a little more optimistic about our chances of promotion, although i believe its only 2 up this year and more games (46). But with many teams like Great Wakering Rovers (who the hell are they, some village side!!!) shouldn't laugh they'll probably beat us now!

But my personal view is that only Harlow, Northwood, Oxford and Yeading are the teams i feel can challenge along side us for promotion. Now if we can just keep the majority of the team, actually have a pre-season and no major cash probs and add a few more 'commited' players then i'd back us to go up, i know its a lot of 'ifs' but lets all just hope.

the players are certainly Premier Division standard so I hope the majority stay; we just need the coaching staff with the ambition to match. Oh, and money lol

I am not saying it will be easy. I'm just thinking with the talent the side is capable of and IF the problems behind the scenes are sorted I believe we would then be in a position for a promotion push bearing in mind only Northwood and 'Arlow finished just above us last season.

I know we're going for it this season. We've got new boss John Kendall in charge who knows the local Non-League scene better than anyone (also manages the Ryman Rep Side). We've got a new number two coming in with Nationwide League experience who has been managing abroad. We'll hopefully announce some big name signings shortly and with a bit of luck there'll be movement on a proper footy ground being built in the town soon.

Now with a bit of luck, the above will start to generate a bit of a crowd.
