Well the natives are getting restless..

already the allotement owners are up in arms about another move....can't blame them really we need to try and work together to ensure that if they are asked to move again..there to get something out of the move !

Martin Deaner has plans to build a club house and shop for them if they move...so it can't be all bad news...we just need to ensure that

we work together to get the common aim

I understand they are getting a petition up against a move...we need to see what we can do to counter this.....

any ideas ????

let me know...cheers chris

Ideas:

1) Get all Slough fans to sign a petition supporting the move to a new ground. Supporters could easily get all their friends, work collegues and familiy to sign this and this would show LOCAL support for the football club.

We would have to plug this HEAVILY in the local press and local radio stations, If we did this then it would show the council how many LOCAL people support the plan for a new ground

2) We could run an online 'Guestbook' of sorts that Football Supporters could sign pledging support for the club and it's hope to move to the new land.

Both options are easily done, although the council would probably more interested in local support rather than national support for the proposed move to go ahead. So option One would probably be the best option.

We could easily create a PDF or a Word document for supporters to print out, sign themselves and get their friends and family to sign.

If you would like to do something like this just email me Chris and with Gary's help we could easily set this up and get decent press and radio coverage.

We have to let the Council know the people of Slough want a football club.

IT'S TIME FOR ACTION!

Any more ideas? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="images/icons/tongue.gif" />

This needs to be done really professionally, with the communications coordinated. We really need to decide what is the message we want to get over and who are the different interest groups we need to get on board, Local residents, People who may be affected but further afield (on routes to the ground for example), local councillors, planning committee, Slough Residents in general, supporters, local media, and then select the best method to get to each group - be it meetings, leaflets, web, press releases etc. Can the club do this or are the supporters going to have to do it? Also it may be necesary to work with the current club hierarchy, however much one may feel about that.......

How feasible is this proposal at this stage, or is it a bit early yet?

Chris S, make sure you take on board what Andrew has said there. He's hit the nail on the head and suggested something which I don't think has been apparent for the past few seasons. The communication levels to the supporters as a whole needs to be improved, and more people need to get onto or in touch with STSA committee's to see what they can do to help.

I must agree with the above sentaments. It's not just communications regarding the proposed ground development that need addressing but in a more general sense. When we were playing in the Conference there was a lot more involvment with local schools, free tickets penalty shoot outs etc. More local advertising would be useful, posters in shops and pubs, adverts in the local press, I am sure the press would be willing to sponser a moderate sized ad in the sports section. Also why not try and get local sports shops to sell replica shirts, I understand that the new kit is quite smart, I would hope these would be considerably cheaper than the profesional kits. Basically the club needs a part time marketing/community liason officer, as we had in the Conferance days. one of the coaching staff perhaps?
