We have signed Scott Goodwin ,26 year old central or left midfield player.

Apparently according to the Echo he's ex Coventry and has experience in the Conference with Kettering and Hereford.

Not sure what to make of his stats.

 

Started at Coventry as a trainee.

 

Played at Hereford 2001-2002 (wasn't that the year they got relegated?)

 

Played at Kettering 2002-2003 (wasn't that the year they got relegated?)

 

I'd ask GNFC what they thought - but he wasn't there long enough.

 

After a previous post which mentioned the depth of the squad (No not the one about the new stadium flooding!)Is he just going to sit on the bench and never make an appearance?

The word from the Street is that Scottie is remembered with some fondness by the meadow end faithful. Perhaps not the most skilful of players but always gives 100% committment and effort. Apparrently left GN under a bit of a clowd shortly after joining them. It was claimed that he failed to fit in off the field with other squad members.

It's great to see Scott back in the conference. No we did not get relagted in the 2000/2001 season. But he is a cracking player. He is a human jack russell, wont stop. Still a bit gutted he got released. Seeming the week before i got his name on the back of that years current shirt. What posistion are you looking to play him, do you know?

Not sure where he`s going to play or indeed if he`s fit to play. He`s apparently just come back from America but i don`t know if he`s been playing out there or on holiday. He`s due to play for the reserves tonight so that might give us a clue.

He may lack a little bit of skill according to a previous post - but I don't think you can always beat 100% commitment.

 

Doesn't look as though his stats page does him justice. Never reflect a players determination or character.

 

What season did Hereford get relegated to the conference?

1996/97 I think. They went into the last day needing to beat Brighton and they only drew. Look at the two clubs now!!!

Well i say lets give him a go,we do need a midfielder

He played for the reserves last night in center mid. He looked like he wasnt afraid of a tackle other than that though he wasnt that impressive.

 

Mind you, it was his first game for the club so he has to get used to the players around him & in the first team he will have better players around him.
