Hornchurch manager Garry Hill, has strengthened his squad, with the signing of 24 year old, Simon Weatherstone from League Two side Yeovil Town, for an undisclosed sum.

Weatherstone, who is a central midfield player, started his career at Oxford United and made his debut as a 17 year old after signing professional forms with the club. He played over seventy games in the first and second divisions, before assisting Boston United to the Conference Championship during a three year spell, which ended in January 2004, with a £15,000 move to Yeovil Town.

Weatherstone will team up once again, with former Yeovil players Lee Elam & Kirk Jackson in the squad to face Cambridge City in the Conference South tomorrow (Tuesday).

Manager Garry Hill said 'Loosing Shaun Carey to injury in the Basingstoke victory was a big blow - but I am delighted to have secured the signing of Simon, who I am sure will be a big asset to Hornchurch throughout the season.'

Simon Weatherstone, who also represented England Youth, and was also capped three times for England National Game XI, has signed a two year contract.
