Simon Weatherstone has completed his £15,000 move from Boston United to Yeovil Town and is set to make his debut in Saturday's clash with Leyton Orient.

 

The 23-year-old recently handed in a transfer request at York Street and Glovers boss Gary Johnson was quick to make a move for a player he has admired for some time.

 

"I've brought him to the club to primarily play up front," Johnson told the Western Daily Press.

 

"He's got a good goalscoring record and is a great addition to my squad.

 

"Simon's a quality finisher with both feet and he'll be in the squad for the game with Leyton Orient.

 

"He's someone I've been asking about for the last year-and-a-half and I'm delighted to sign him."

 

Weatherstone scored 27 times in 109 league outings for Boston, following his move from Oxford United in February 2001, and was a key member of their Nationwide Conference title-winning squad in 2002.
