Yesterday's game

YELLOW

Recommended Posts

I expect EFM will once again get the blame for the events towards the end of yesterday's game. I was witness to a Saints official and an older female fan having a go at various EFM members in particular Zeal. They seemed to dislike the fact that EFM were calling for the manager's head and something was mentioned about the fact a flare had been let off in the first half and could get the club chucked out from the league.

First of all as far as I know nobody complained about the flare. From what I saw it looked a bit dissapointing and didn't cause anybody any harm.

Secondly EFM were the only ones getting behind the team yesterday. Frankly the team was pathetic. St Albans didn't seem to have too many ideas and Eastbourne wern't much better!!!

People are entitled to their opiniions and shouldn't be shot down for them. Steve Castle's record is poor, very poor and from what I could see there's real problems at the club.

The rumpus left a sour taste in the mouth. Zeal I know especially was quite upset about it all and some of them have talked about not attending home games.

I was with EFM all day. Yes alot of alcohol was consumed, they were loud, in high spirits but did nobody any harm but they seemed to be blamed for voicing feelings that many supporters know but want to sweep under the carpet.

I imagine a few things will be said tomorrow but this is my view of events and I felt a few things had to be said as I hate to see friends of mine being shitted upon from a great height!

To put things in perspective, Yellow, a flare was set off at Sutton too. I'm not sure where the law stands on this issue, but, yet again, it was harmless fun and handled well by the stewards.

Unfortunately, at Sutton, there were two incidents of racist comments made by City fans (not EFM). I had some correspondence with a Sutton steward who told me that he had reported it to the same "Saints official" after the game. I wonder what has happened about it! Nothing! What would happen if it had been a member of EFM? I think we know the answer to that. As for the "older" lady who had a go at Zeal: "Welcome to the club". You've been coming for about two months now. Some of us have suffered this decline for years. If you don't have anything intellegent to say other than repeating the club's "Gibbo saved the club" line, keep out of it!

I noticed, mate. You had a monster bottle of Red Bull and Vodka on top of everything else. Not a bad performance on your part. I remember you having a go at someone in a West Ham shirt in the clubhouse. The guy on the fruit machine had the hump too. I'm not sure what you said but they definately took offence.

Yep I remember his altercation with the West Ham fan well.

Zeal you listened to them CDs you got in that charity shop yet?

Yes, thanks! We've been attending games on a kind of regular basis since that season when we were suspended for a few weeks. I think that makes this our 4th season. However, we've only recently started going to away games. It's "soon-to-be" Mrs Zag that makes alot of the effort getting to know people, I'm a right old anti-social sod.

So Zeal how did you think I did Saturday? Do you think I'm EFM material? Thought I handled myself OK and had a fair bit to drink.

Overall quite an enjoyable day. It was a good laugh most of the time!

I seem to remember someone getting confused at Upminster Station, and in the centre of Hornchurch, and in the....oh, we'll leave it at that!

Did you arm wrestle anyone this time YA?

Think you did about 9 pints at the Maidenhead match, didn't you?

He didn't look to clever on the way home!

He turned down Thornsey's offer of a night out in St Albans.

I think Yellow will think twice about coming on an EFM outing again. That's a shame because he'd quite like Maidenhead.

My favourite moment was when we went in that pub near Eastbourne station and seeing Yellow desperately looking for the toilet. Just the same look as when I met him in the Crown before the Canvey match.
