Not the most emphatic performance ever but you can't argue with another Three points.

I felt we performed quite well in the first half and had all the play which saw us go in to half time deserverdlly one up what a craker by Elam.

We totally went off the Boil when Elam and Clark a Right Winger and Left Winger where replaced by a Centre Forward and 'midfielder' we totally lost our shape and width which allowed them to attack us, (although Ziggy did well) . But for our again tremendous defence i'm sure they would have grabbed a point.

Although a cracking free-kick by Caskey gotta say it was another lack-lustre performance by him, Darren and Shipp have done nothing to prove to me that they should be ahead of the superb John Martin, who i hear has been superb in training. But football is a game of opinons !

Alas Three Points are Three Points that keep us at the helm !

Got to agree on the Caskey debate. Don't get me wrong. I think he can be a great player for us but his fitness and sharpness are knowhere near they need to be.

Also, I too was a bit baffled by the substitutions. Both Elam and Clarkie had worked their socks off and by taking both of them off allowed Carshalton to relax more and push forward for a goal.

Still, 3 points in the bag with 2 great goals!

Seeing West Ham win up in Sheffield was great and to hear another excellent result from down south, albeit by those that were there was not a perfect performance, made a truly top day.

I'm looking for a Double Championship & Promotion winning season in May.

Come on you Irons/Chins.

I thought we were superb in the opening 20 minutes or so. Our attacking play was a different class! We kind of went off the boil a bit though and for long periods in the 2nd half they looked as if they would get on level terms. We stuck at it though and were duely rewarded. Another 3 points in the bag and we can start dreaming of winning the league!

Agree with you BC, I thought for a moment Carshalton were going to grab a draw out of the game. However, 3 points is 3 points, we can't expect cricket scores week in week out. Teams, especially when we travel, are going to try and raise their game against us. We simply need to take the chances that come our way. Without tempting fate, I can't see us losing at the moment!

Why do people always jump to conclusions As UU has stated on another thread a lot of players carrying slight injuries. A quality squad has been assembled for this reason. Why risk the player futher damage when there is such talent on the bench & also not able to make the bench.

On the Caskey debate, i agree with many of the points about his wieght & fitness, but come on lads face the facts, his fottball brain & vision at this level are Top Draw. He also has a great right foot, just ask the Carshalton keeper.

What worried me was as i said the total loss of shape after the substitution, I was disapointed after a good first half which turned into a mis-match of players in odd positions Adie Harris on the Left of Midfield .

The reason i presumed John Martin was fit was that a player told me John was gutted to be left out !

As you know normally when it comes down to a fitness test it can be a very close call!

If he had played and injured himself further it would of been said why play him when unfit.

We have a large good qaulity sqaud. GH will also know the qaulity he has at his disposal and a run of six victorys bodes well to back him.

I as much as anyone want to see JM Roasting players on the wing like he done week in week out last year. But Patience is a virtue and all that.
