Mightily Impressed !

Well just managed to get there for my first league game of the season after motoring like mad from work. Rest assured the journey can take only 45 mins via dover though I dont recommend doing it my way all the time as it could get you into trouble. I was fortunate in that respect today.

Anyway, the game. I thought the teams attitude was exceptional apart from agreeing with some previous posts that ROCKY really isnt putting his back into it. Not bothering half the time in my view and when he does get the ball takes it one step to far when a shot at goal would be more appropiate, earlier. Thought EDWARDS was outstanding and ANNON played well too. CLARKIE put in some sterling work as did KEISTER(not normally a fan but he has obviously found his true level of football). There can be no excuses however for him obviously saying something out of place to the ref near the end. There was nothing happening around him at the time and no foul was conceded so he has let the team down in that respect.Mind you the ref gave him a second yellow so if indeed it was for foul and abusive language then that is deemeed as a straight red so either the ref has done his job wrongly or it was something completely different to that, though for the love of me I couldnt see anything.

OATES had a sterling game but as has been for a while now lacks pace. Needs work on his fitness and speed then he really will be a player to be reckoned with. STADHART tried very hard and I credit him with that.

New guy wasnt all that until last 15 mins when he started to grow in confidence.The keeper I'm not so sure about.A couple of times he flapped at high balls but really didnt know where the ball was to end up. He didnt have much to do anyway as I was vastly dissapointed with the attitude of WEYMOUTH and their lack of firing power. Even CLARIDGE was out of the game most of the time. Other Margate players seemed ordinary but adequate i.m.o.

I backed WEYMOUTH at the beginning of the season but I do think my money is lost.Can see why they are not getting the results everyone thought they would. The arguing and fighting amongst themselves was at times laughable. Have never seen a side so hell bent on trying to lose a game by bickering at each other so consistenly throughout a game.That is their problem and if they sort that out am sure they WILL become a threat. Today though they never really got a look in. Lucky goal and that was it from them. No attacking threat at all really and they were a dissapointing unit altogether.

MARGATES attitude was spot on and were it not for BAD finishing the three points would be ours.

Alas we didnt however get those three points and so we play well without reward but the performance I saw today all told was extremely encouraging. A couple of more experienced forwards with a little more grit and know how would help us no end. Sorry to repeat it but ROCKY wasnt at the races today and was just going through the motions. He needs replacing soon unless he gets his act together.

Only 1 game but I see a basis of a very good side there. We wont be easy to beat with that attitude no matter who we meet.

It was a bad result but I enjoyed the game and the way the game took it to them. Well done everyone regardless of the score.

As for the referee, I dont usually critisise them as people usually take it out on them with a bad result but I have to agree that both he and his 2 helpers on the line were a disgrace for missing or not WANTING to give some decisions that surely would have brought about a different result to that which was arrived at today.

Yes bad bad officiating today and thats not sour grapes but a fact.
