Players Departed

Recommended Posts

While queuing in the newsagents this morning to collect my copy 'Good Housekeeping', I glanced at the back page of the St. Albans Observer.

There is reference to Chris Seeby going on loan to Harlow Town to 'gain valuable first team experience', quotes from the manager to the efeect that "Chris features in my long term plans.....he needs to strike a note of consistency..."

Further on he says that Ram Marwar, Chris Zoricich and Ben Martin are rated at no more than 50:50 for the Eastbourne match due to injuries which "leaves us a bit light at the back".

Stuff like this confirms that I don't know anything about football.

Yes, I'm afraid that the new philosophy of mine has taken a bit of a pounding over the last week or so, GHA.

I really thought that I had come to terms with it [rather than dejectedly accepted the situation], early in the pre-season. I felt that I was able to look forward to matchdays, knowing what was to come on the green bit and off it, but enjoying the company in the clubhouse, the sunshine etc, nevertheless.

If Chris passes the trial, he's absent for 5 League fixtures.

[Trial! TRIAL! A trial to go on loan for a month at Harlow Town of the Essex Senior League or Ryman 2 or whatever. For the love of Jesus! A trial. So the Manager telephones his mate, the Manager of Harlow Town. "Tommy, me old mate", says he, "We've got a youngster, 19 years old, centre-back, played 39 games in the Ryman Premier League last season, lacks a bit of consistency this term. Would you like to give him a trial and see if he's good enough to play for Harlow Town of Ryman Div 2 for a month?" Why aren't we on the receiving end of that kind of call?

Is it me?]

As we're on the theme of departing players, what about Jonny Moore and Jamie Parsons. Both better in their respective positions than what we've got at the moment, in my opinion.

Jonny's at Northwood and Jamie at Edgware. Both doing well last time I heard.

And let's not forget Scott Atkinson.

What a load of nonsense.

I won't even go into the 'farm Seebs out to Harlow thing'.
