Anyone Have A SVCD Player?

Some DVD players can play SVCD's....

The point of the question is that I have made a compilation CD of highlights from Slough matches in August 2004. The initial output type was a SVCD as this gave the highest resolution (biggest picture), but it appears, it doesn't work well (at all) with Real Player or Windows Media Player. So, if anyone has something which can play SVCD files and would like to see it, please let me know. (I've done one, so it will be first come, first serve)

In the meantime, I will work on getting a DVD done either on a monthly or annual basis. Won't be of significant quality as such (compared to say Dover's), but hopefully, it won't turn out too bad!

In the mean time whilst I save some pennies to get a DVD writer, I will try and get some normal CD's done and in the club shop. Cover my expenses and all profits go to the trust.

I'm pretty sure I downloaded some sort of patch a while back with some codecs to play SVCDs through media player - but as my PC is in for repair I can't tell you what or where from which is pretty unhelpful. As for putting them on a normal DVD player, I'm not sure.

Gary, if this is a genuine fund-raising opportunity, it would not be unreasonable for the Trust to purchase a suitable DVD writer and loan it to you for this purpose.

Would you sell enough DVDs to eventually recoup the cost of a writer?

DVD-Rs are pretty cheap these days. Mine is seriously underused Gary so once I've got it back and set up in my new place then you'd be more than welcome to come over and make use of my facilites, rather than splash out on one yourself. I know this post is open to all sorts of innuendo so people, do your worst <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
