Weakest Link - David James

Recommended Posts

I cant get onto the World bit so I'm posting on my home one.

I have great doubts about Svens ability with the England team. Anybody who thinks David (Calamity) James is a good keeper needs a full lobotomy.

There are I'm sure a few teams in the ESL who would snap him up, but Chopper is a better keeper than he is and therefore in my opinion has more right to wear the England No 1 jersey than David James ever had.

For goodness sake find someone who is a safer pair of hands to keep goal or England will win diddlysquat.

Agreed.

It's easy to knock goalkeepers and if it was a one-off mistake, or a one-off bad game by an otherwise good keeper. fair enough, everyone's human and is entitled to [****!!****] up once in a while.

But Calamity is KNOWN to be dodgy, hence his nickname! I can't conceive why he plays for England.

I'm also puzzled why Smith was taken off for Defoe. I would have taken Owen off. Smith was doing ok and would play better with Defoe.

I gather that the Gerard substitution was a [****!!****] up.

Yep, sad ain't it.

Quite frankly, the FA should work harder at finding a way of getting rid of him. Surely if results are crap and they sack him for poor performance he couldn't claim compensation ? Then again it's a crazy world in which we live.

If they, the FA, want a foreign coach, for different tactics then so be it BUT the manager (front man) should be English. You can't tell me that a foreigner would have the same passion etc...

Be fair to the man. West Ham's always been his other team. Celtic is really his dad's but one of his cousins played for them (1 app in the first team, which may not be a lot but it's more than I would ever have been able to do!).

Not too sure about this affinity with other non-League clubs though, Bubs. They may have got you bang to rights there!

THREE Spurs players in the same full England side. When did that last happen ?

At least 20 years ago me thinks....

During the pre-match build-up Martin Tyler said 1987 was the last time three Spurs players were in the same England XI.
