FA Cup

It's not the quality of the game, it's the winning that counts!

Went to see a very poor game at Ware this afternoon. Boiling hot, poor football and only one goal. And I missed the opportunity to go shopping at Brent Cross. Could also have gone to Hoddesdon to see a very one sided game.

The massed ranks of 4 supporters behind the away goal comprised of 3 Town fans and an EFC supporter.

Never mind, I trust tomorrow's will be the best game of the day and the Town will come out on top.

See you there Russ.

You forgot that other bloke near the corner flag that most Enfield crosses went to.

Can anyone explain why the following teams did not enter the FA Cup this year.

Waltham Abbey, Barkingside, Burnham Ramblers, Southend Manor, Basildon United, Concorde Rangers, Eton Manor, Romford, Brentwood Town, London APSA and Stansted.

It does demonstrate a certain lack of ambition in the ESL does it not.

Where did you get that list from?

Barkingside won 5-3 against Royston on Saturday and stand a very good chance of progressing in the next round away to Edgware,
Burnham Ramblers lost 3-0 to Waltham Forest,
Southend Manor drew 1-1 with Ford Sports Daventry on Saturday and reply tomorrow night,
Concord lost 3-1 to Ilford in the extra preliminary round,
Eton Manor lost 3-1 to Cornard Utd,
Romford lost 4-0 to Brook House,
Brentwood Town lost 2-0 to Bury Town
and Stansted lost 3-2 to Harwich & Parkeston.

Of the other three, London APSA are probably still finding their feet. No doubt Waltham Abbey and Basildon fans can say why their clubs don't enter.

Must admit my research was not as thorough as yours. I looked at Foxy's early post when he mentioned 4 clubs and deduced that the others had not entered.

However that does not answer the vase question where I used www.tonykempster.co.uk

But your Vase question was wrong as well. Only Basildon haven't entered. Why not use the FA web site instead?

They took Telford United's place (albeit at a much earlier stage in the competition). I think the FA took the view that they were a direct replacement for Telford United, whereas the likes of Enfield Town and AFC Wimbledon are considered as new clubs formed as offshoots of existing clubs rather than replacing them and therefore have to start from the beginning.

I'm not saying it's right that AFC Telford should be in the FA Cup, just stating why they are.
