Not much reported on yesterdays match, so here's my impressions.<p>First half was fairly bland, end of season stuff, with Slough havibg the best chances, but fluffing them. One great run by CJ, right thro the middle of the Saines defence desereved a goal, but he hit the bar. <p>Second half Slough raised the pressure and had by far more possession than an unimpressive Staines side, but it appeared that it might be one of those matches where you are the better team but lose to a soft goal, but fortunately Staines fluffed their rare chances too. As the game went on Sough battled hard against 12 men--the ref was dire, the half chances came and went, until Roach sank a rebound. Fans happy at the end because the team battled hard to get the result<p>If we'd taken our chances a bigger win would have been recorded. Good performances by CJ who caused problems but got no protection from the ref, and Winstone who gave us width down the right.

I must admit not paying too much attention to the game yesterday, but it did seem an uninspiring performance from both sides.<p>CJ looked dangerous on the ball again, but just lacks that killer pass/finish to his runs. (Billie) Jean looked comfortable in goal bar a low cross in the first half which he should have claimed and a slice in the second, but very comfortable aside from that.<p>Haynes/Gilkes - fullbacks? Nope. Another masterstroke from the incompetent idiot in charge.<p>Referee - Useless. How he didn't get that foul on Roach is beyond me.<p>Highlight of the day (aside from those on the walk): Five Staines fans stood in front of a Staines Massive sign. Yes, all five of them. Well it made me laugh anyway.
