Margate vs. Hayes

Bloody excellent. We've been threatening a good performance, and (it appears) we now have one.

It goes to show that the league is still settling down. Hayes stuffed Cambridge City the other weekend, and we lost to Cambridge at the start of the week. Interesting to see Hornchurch panelled Basingstoke, too. The B'stoke game will probably be my next one.

BTW - does anyone know a decent way of following our progress via the Interweb? Three Counties Radio seems totally indifferent to us, so all I have been able to use is the BBC Videprinter, plus updates here. Bit hopeless. BBC Radio Kent doesn't have internet hook-up yet, and I am too far away to tune in on an analogue radio.

Eastbourne, who were terrible last week, got a draw at Grays. This is a topsy-turvy league. Of course, I'm not expecting us to make a challenge for promotion, but a place in the top six is not out of the question. There is little to pick between many of the teams.

It was a wonderful acrobatic goal too, a diving header from a beautifully placed Clarkey cross across the front of the goal - pure magic.

The boys played a fantastic game today, losing Green to a broken ankle and then going a goal down early in the first half, they kept fighting on and it was a truly well deserved result.

Rocky bundled his goal in despite the efforts of three of their guys, Peter went one on one with the goalie to win his. There were many other chances too, played at quite a furious pace despite the heat.

Nej, after a hesitant start, grew in stature as the game progressed and gave a good account of himself.

Bill played really well, back on form I think, but everyone deserves credit for this great game.

Drove home over the moon in the glorious September sunshine feeling very glad I was there today.

Great result.

Don't think we come from behind too often.

Have to be careful after Russian events as its only a game, but is really bad news about Green.

Our best player/defender and now out till about Feb. i guess.

This will really expose our small squad.

Worst thing we could do is play Clarke there, since whilst he is capable, it would weaken midfield even more

Agreed, my biggest worry is the lack of experienced full backs, and we need Clarkey further up for the quality of his passes and crosses. However, we will hopefully have Greg back for next week. I heard Chris on the radio saying he is looking around, so maybe he will come up with a wonder boy or two, a quality signing at this moment would be welcome.

My heartfelt best wishes go out to Mark Green for a speedy recovery, and early return to the side.

personally i think today was 1 of the scrappiest i seen gate play for a long time.

number 8 (chose to forget his name), dont look where he passes or kicks and is generally a foot(or 3) of the pace. keister tries to hold the midfeild up alone hard work for a small guy imo we need a strong guy next to him. (some 1 like Lpiper who can charge forward would be good.)

our keeper was shakey as hell in the first half but gaind confidence in the second making 2 decent saves. (and a couple of dodgy 1`s also)

Green.. was a shame he was a up and comming star player has real skill and pace to go with it and control, i hope his leg isnt broke, if it is thats a real shame as i dont think he is replaceable.

Che, worked so hard again somthing had to happen, i was holding my head down in disbelife thinking we were in for yet another defeat when i saw che rise up and fire a ball which any keeper would be pressed to save, good play and a well deserved goal... (this started a change of the game as we pressed forward more)

rockys goal was the scrappiest goal ever i thought the ref dissalowed it for a second but he made the correct choice, (rocky and the keeper collided and ended laying on eachother in the net after his shot) tongue

the last goal benavides recived a ball which the hayes players were calling for offside but he carried on and took a low kick.

was a untidy game but about the right score in the end, if we can win playing as [***!!***] as we did today then we can go far if we play good.

was pleased that when che came on after the game (he was subd in 85th min) people shouted well done che and clapped him, was well deserved. he looked well chuffed. sure he will produce now, tho the strikers need more controld service to work with, this lob and hope is no good.

The ref was a blind twat, gave all sorts of [***!!***] desisions, the lino was ok tho...

made for a entertaining game in the end. and a deserved win.

As the 1st home game I could get to this season (Due to being in the USA) I was impressed with the performance on pitch. As I have been told before, Stadhart has improved enormously in his on pitch performance, and his goal was 1st class. Mark Green looked very promising for what I saw, and for the keepers 1st game in goal, I thought he looked good, some good saves, and he was off his line very quickly when needed, no worse than Smithy for his heart stoping moments. Only disapointment was Baptiste, who looks off from what I saw of him last year, and what happened to John Keister? He got good for just a drop of one league, best i've seen him play in a blue shirt for a long time.

Well worth the travel & 3pts in the bag, glad to see Che get his well overdue goal finally. Green's injury a downer & hopefully he'll be back in the near future (as much as you can with a fracture), apart from that a great day for the BlueBoys.

Think Hussians time on the bench is over as he played a commanding game after a shakey start & he looked the part for the rest of the game, hope he don't get a trial at another club like ollie.

If we can get a few more signings in the next few months we could make a good account for ourselves by the end of the season.

Right Ladies & Gentlemen that was my last game in person till March as gotta go back to work abroard, was good to leave on a winner & will be checking up on the site from across the water.
