So what does everyone think of our chances tomorrow?

It has been interesting to see comments from other clubs suggesting that we have been punching below our weight as a team, and that our position in the table goes against our evident quality.

Maybe tomorrow it will come together?

Frankly imo the table does not lie, and whilst i have not seen the last two games where we have improved apparently, i have consistently predicted bottom 6 position with squad as it

stands, but player strenghthening in midfield and central defence could see us climb to mid-table by Xmas.

 

Don't forget in three weeks one quarter of league season has gone and we have made our usual poor start.

 

I don't think we should kid ourselves that frankly, we are not very good.

However, i just want survival in this league this season, but think unless we strengthen, that is questionable

I cannot agree with that, michaelmichael, the last two games have been much improved on the first ones and I can see the team coming together.

When you look at the table - Cambridge and Bognor both up near the top - they are no better than us and I thought not playing as well, they just had the run of the luck on the day and converted their chances.

I do agree that the back line and the midfield need strengthening, but there isn't the gulf in quality between those teams and us that would suggest we will have a poor finish to the season. Traditionally we have always grown in stature as the season progresses.

Hope always springs eternal in my mind on a Friday, come on the blues and give us a lift tomorrow!

Dont forget with the late start we had in pre-season,we still need the team to gell,I for one still belives CK will come good,have faith,we will be one of the top teams this season.

The faith is there, but a fine line between 'success 'and failure.

 

I do think we are a /10 man side;and those two positions-central defence(very worried about BE performances)and defensive midfield make all the difference.

 

It is a fine line.

Today for example-we get a lucky last minute goal-9points -and everyone thinks we are'on our way'.

 

Lose to a bad penalty decision and stuck on points and its doom and gloom.

 

Either result would not deflect from my view that until we fill those two positions it will be up and down all the time.

 

Get those positions filled and we should have a slow but steady climb to mid table.

 

Question is are the finances there to get those two 'gaps' filled.

Interestingly, just red on Gravesend forum that whilst Duku is at Lewes, he is on non-contract terms.

Maybe the Gate should still be pursuing him
